(I wasnβt claiming to be related to him, just the coincidence of being so nearly βK Pietersenβ and resultant cricket chats were amazing)
I feel like I ought to admit I that I have a special connection to him because our surnames are almost identical. I spent a lot of time in Pakistan and India when he was playing and the mileage I got out of this fact (eg signing into hotels) was *enormous*
hahaha wow, you werenβt kidding
Unfortunately I was at least two hours away from home which always makes this sort of thing less advisable (need to start bringing spare shoes as well as spare socks maybe β¦)
I will absolutely let you know if/when I find out!
true! as soon as I saw the words βwaterproof socksβ I kind of knew what to expect. multiple people promised me itβs nice in summer β¦
parkrun at RTW today celebrating my 200 tourism streak. I have not repeated an event since early January 2022. incidentally I donβt recommend this as a lifestyle choice
ugh. Iβm sorry to hear that
fun addition to the subbuteo display though
*worst. so full of mud I canβt even type anymore
in theory you can wash it all off by running through the giant puddle/lake π¬
I know thatβs from there but thatβs not it!
well that was the worse
good morning Royal Tunbridge Wells!
there might be a ridiculously specific angle, like the only medieval manuscript where thereβs an illumination with blue leaves, or a cuneiform tablet without right justification or something
I am in fact going to this museum today (assuming itβs still there and at what is now the Amelia Scott) so donβt want to miss my chance of seeing something special
niche question: in the last week or so I read about some kind of object of which there are only two (in the world or in the UK), one of which is at the museum in Tunbridge Wells.
given my job and indiscriminate interests this could be *anything* β does this sound familiar to anyone?
Have been warned about the terrain!
Park cafe sounds great; I will also head into town after as Iβd like to see the Amelia Scott but probably not with everyone
@briteeyedviolet.bsky.social any post-parkrun brunch recs in Tunbridge Wells? tourism party is tomorrow π
crushed to inform @melindahaunton.bsky.social and BlueSky at large that Paralympic curling is exclusively throwing and no sweeping, so Iβm no longer interested in my one chance of a gold medal
4-2 Spurs, you heard it here first
meanwhile Iβll be, uh, wearing my West Ham shirt
funnier and funnier
that would explain why she looked so, umm, graceful when she did it!
a black and white cat trying to lie on a sofa covered in different cushions. her back legs are hanging off the edge
Penny has moved so many cushions off the back of the sofa that she no longer has space to lie down
(in fact she fell off the sofa shortly after I took this photo)

just frying some pierogi in ghee for @girlinthe.bsky.socialβs delight
my favourite part
these are not my usual colours!
