Now is the time to lean in and turn the residential solar sector into the powerhouse that it can and should be. Who wants to help us build this distributed, vibrant future?

equipment financing & logistics β all of these steps in the process have significant opportunities for reduction in cost. We're working on them and will be releasing solutions on our platform for them for our installers and customers starting this fall.
We'll kick out the bad actors, we'll gain efficiencies and protect the good installers that maximize benefits for their customers, and we'll strengthen the grid while homeowners have cheap solar electrons filling their batteries.
Finance, customer acquisition, permitting & interconnection,
decrease in $/W install cost we saw a doubling of annual installation volume. This means that when we get the cost down towards that $2/W average, we're bringing on another 3-5X the houses that we're doing now. How fast do we transition if we have 3M homes adding solar + storage? If we have five?
more than make up the reduction given by the ITC. By ending the ITC, we have a better chance of removing the bad actors from the industry and driving down costs so that more homeowners can benefit from solar + storage.
A chart I saw once shared by @ramez.bsky.social showed that for every 36%
While I expect to see some reduction in residential solar next year because of the loss of the ITC, I also expect to grow the market as we reduce the cost towards a $2/W national average. We've seen an egregiously bad jump in predatory finance and sales practices in the last several years which
Tesla & Nissan started the consumer EV revolution 15 years ago, & now @slateauto.bsky.social is at the vanguard of the next phase. The first $20K EV is going to increase adoption by multiples, not by a few percentage points.

It's got a loo with a view too!
Everyone keeps talking about cutting government spending but what about government value, like revenue generation and value to the public? I mean there seems to be only slashing spending and no assessment to what value is being cut, what capacity being shrunk, eliminated, etc.
Welcome my friend!
But DERVOS has yet to be scheduled during a week that I can attend. I have the biggest FOMO about it
Tim Latimer on stage at the Dept of Energy's Deploy24 conference.
Great to see @timlatimer.bsky.social spreading warm and fuzzy feelings about advanced geothermal at #Deploy24.
done!
Great #Deploy24 conversation between @jigarshahdc.bsky.social, Neil Chatterjee, & Heather Reams of CRES on creating bipartisan support for acceleration of clean energy deployment and making sure the US leads the world in the 21st century's economy of AI, advanced manufacturing, and electric machines
@jigarshahdc.bsky.social kicking off day 2 of #Deploy24.
Paraphrase [We've always been great at inventing things in the United States, but communicating that out is a vibe, and we're starting to get our swagger back. Let's keep that energy going into the new administration.]
Hey #EnergySky peeps! Who's all here at #Deploy24?
Great time to catch up with old friends, meet new ones, and make plans to accelerate deployment of clean energy infrastructure.
While it's great to celebrate the colossal achievement that is the Inflation Reduction Act, we must also recognize that there's still so much left to do. Too often we abdicate to federal government programs, rather than take on the task of pushing from the bottom up.

Field of Dreams gave me unrealistic expectations about DTC customer acquisition.
When the mask mandate was lifted from Mass General Brigham in May '23, hospital transmission of resp virus went up. When the mandate was re-instituted in Jan '24, infection rates went down. www.news-medical.net/news/2024052...
What is going on here? I'd believe this in an urban, blue, nanny city, but not in a rural, conservative counties like this. Absolutely bonkers. t.co/IOjZbBn5ul

Congrats Jesse!
Who all from #energySky is going to #Deploy24 next month?
I know @jigarshahdc.bsky.social will be there, who else? Would love to meet up if you are!

Awesome! We're now funding them so would love to get ours into the market too
For me, it will be dueling. Whether it's by the blade, or by the accompanying bacteria and loss of access to antibiotics, I know not yet.
That was a list, here's the starter pack go.bsky.app/UHn5zDY
Started one bsky.app/profile/ravi...
Letβs do this!
Welcome to #EnergySky Michael!
How are you enjoying it so far? We're looking at this right now for our next vehicle.
