Now is the time to lean in and turn the residential solar sector into the powerhouse that it can and should be. Who wants to help us build this distributed, vibrant future?
equipment financing & logistics — all of these steps in the process have significant opportunities for reduction in cost. We're working on them and will be releasing solutions on our platform for them for our installers and customers starting this fall.
We'll kick out the bad actors, we'll gain efficiencies and protect the good installers that maximize benefits for their customers, and we'll strengthen the grid while homeowners have cheap solar electrons filling their batteries.

decrease in $/W install cost we saw a doubling of annual installation volume. This means that when we get the cost down towards that $2/W average, we're bringing on another 3-5X the houses that we're doing now. How fast do we transition if we have 3M homes adding solar + storage? If we have five?
more than make up the reduction given by the ITC. By ending the ITC, we have a better chance of removing the bad actors from the industry and driving down costs so that more homeowners can benefit from solar + storage.

While I expect to see some reduction in residential solar next year because of the loss of the ITC, I also expect to grow the market as we reduce the cost towards a $2/W national average. We've seen an egregiously bad jump in predatory finance and sales practices in the last several years which
Tesla & Nissan started the consumer EV revolution 15 years ago, & now @slateauto.bsky.social is at the vanguard of the next phase. The first $20K EV is going to increase adoption by multiples, not by a few percentage points.

Everyone keeps talking about cutting government spending but what about government value, like revenue generation and value to the public? I mean there seems to be only slashing spending and no assessment to what value is being cut, what capacity being shrunk, eliminated, etc.
