Yet there are documented cases of them ignoring the law - violating a bedrock constitutional principle. Americans of color are staying home, afraid to go to work, school, to grocery shop, or fill their cars with gas. This isn't just "illegals" or immigrants with valid work permits, it is citizens who have had their cars rammed by ICE for merely looking Hispanic. Businesses are closing. Schools are 50 percent full. When they are open, fascists are calling in bomb threats because the president decided to make us a meme. After a daycare teacher with a valid work permit (through 2030) was snatched from her workplace, parents (and grandparents) have had to organize to watch their SCHOOLS, to make sure conditional rights are observed. so sorry to my commissioners who have been waiting for their initial sketches for their pieces, trying to draw either on paper or on a tablet for longer than 30 minutes makes me feel like ripping my hair out. i know i can get to them eventually but i dont. know when. eventually. is.

i think it comes down, at least partially, to the fact i never studied animal shapes. i have a lot of experience in human bodies and when my lack of experience in animals meets my rusty skill in drawing bodies Nothing Ever Gets Done.

enjoy the act of drawing again. i love being in the weeds of a piece and getting excited knowing ill be here for the next few hours but recently actively drawing and knowing i have so far to go feels so intimidating. like ill never reach the other side.

i feel like my figures are lazy, my poses are uninspired, and i can only draw so many head shapes that look weird and wonky before im way outside my window of tolerance for "bad art." i know the only way to improve is to keep trying, give myself grace, and study my fundamentals but i ju s t want to-
