I was hanging out with very old Bobby who lived in a cabin by a pond at the edge of a mountain forest. The cabin was heated by an old oil-fired furnace. A guy shows up for an oil delivery. I try to help but the oil leaks and I scramble to try and keep it out of the pond.
Thatโs it.
Thirteen days ago was my 75th birthday. Today I woke and realized that this is my first day living in this material world not shared with Bob Weir.
Yesterday was heavy.
Of course he visited me in a dream.
Bobby Weir and I have had an ongoing internal conversation since the American Beauty, Live Dead days. I expect that conversation to continue. Thought you would live forever, bud. Your music certainly will. Love for real not fade away. โค๏ธ๐๐น

The Red Rocks at the Pueblo of Jemez in New Mexico- graphite drawing
For over fifty years we have used one of my drawings as a holiday greeting card. From last year, this is Red Rocks in Shades of Gray. Those familiar with New Mexico may recognize this scene from the beautiful Pueblo of Jemez, north of Albuquerque.
Happy Holidays, good luck to all of us in 2026โ

Purple eggplant blossom
โAsian Delightโ eggplant blossom. Lots of new growth and blossoms in the garden, the plants dig this cool moist weather. Now comes the suspense of waiting for the first frostโ average used to be around 10/20 here in Albuquerque, but has been receding with the changing climate.
Holy gods I expect Ben Bradlee to dig and scratch his way out of his grave and strangle the non-existent printers ink out of the chosen who penned this mess in the name of the editorial board.
