As we wrap up 2025, we want to send a thank you to all our incredible volunteers, partners, and older people in our community. Your time and energy have made a real difference, we couldn’t have done it without you!
Wishing you a joyful holiday season and a 2026 filled with learning and connection!
On the 11th and 12th of November we took part in the Neighbourhood Health Service Simulation, at the NHS providers conference.
We trained on new temporary systems and worked together as a combined health service for this neighbourhood.
It was a very interesting way of learning and participating.
Visited the Tian Cheng Temple on Tuesday.
The lady who manages the temple shared all their activities: recycled handbag making, gardening, meditation and keyring making.
It was great to see my brew and chat people from Swinton joining in with the meditation and enjoying the free vegan food.
This Monday 17th November, we had an interesting brew and chat session with a senior project officer who is working with the Eccles regeneration project.
The group enjoyed hearing the plans and potential updates, shared many ideas and were pleased to have been apart of the conversation.
Yesterday, had a wonderful brew and chat in for Self-care Week.
As a group we did some chair exercises to get everyone warmed up as exercise came up a lot.
Then the group took part in some breathing techniques to help everyone leave the session feeling calm and relaxed.
Yesterday we welcomed Silver Economy Forum delegates to Salford to showcase our Age Friendly work. Visitors from all over the world learned about Tech and Tea and Age Friendly Standards, with Geoff and Tania sharing their experiences.
Its time to shine a light on Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, a progressive lung condition that affects over 1.2 million people in the UK.

We joined a workshop at Eccles Gateway to share ideas for the future of Eccles Town Centre
Loved hearing creative ways to make Eccles even better.
Proud to share Age Friendly Salford’s work and see the community come together!
