Iโm lucky enough to have 2 giants of my field of Infectious Diseases as mentors and friends (medical school, residency/fellowship, and for life!)
Bennett Lorber and Allan Tunkel at Temple Medicine Grand Rounds yesterday.

oh crapโaccidentally included orthopedics on the ID team signal group chat about stopping the ancef
Oh boy @templeid.bsky.social , this brings back memories of days rounding with a certain guest attending
Fantastic talk about the diagnostic challenges of Tb but also the areas we can improve within the system to ensure communication & different types of bias donโt effect our work up and follow up.
For the hardest working fellows in the game this holiday season, we had a @templeid.bsky.social family lunch. #IDSky #MedSky
๐๐ฅณHUGE congrats to our former fellows - all passed ID boards! We never had a doubt and are so proud! 100% ๐คฏboard pass rate for 14 years now! When your program is academically rigorous but still values work/life balance =sweet spot! #IDSky
Would reimbursement be an issue? I remember in residency Pulm rarely did thoraโs b/c IR got paid so much more so they figured why take on the risk of complications etc
Super proud of @templeid.bsky.social faculty Dr. Spivack presenting todayโs Grand Rounds on climate change and ID! #IDSky
Haha no not at all. Thatโs the seasoning and develops during the smoking process. Brisket looks like that! - def not burnt๐ฅฒ
We take work parties seriously. #IDSky #Brisket
We formally meet twice a year. But we often are using it as a nice summary session! We fix /adjust things as they come up. Lucky to have an environment where faculty & fellows can feel comfortable & say, hm this isnt working right can we do this instead? So these meetings are smooth!
Just wrapped up another great PEC (program eval committee) & itโs amazing to work in such a collaborative program. Always keeping the program fresh & adjusting to meet the needs of the fellows that year. Weโre lucky to be able to do this! #IDSky
The best day of the year - #MatchDaySky we are thrilled to welcome these incredible docs to our team! Another amazing year! #IDSky
Happy Match Day! We cannot wait to see who will be joining us next year! Good luck to everyone! #IDSky
Tell me your an ID doc without telling meโฆ
Big bag of condoms & lube hanging out in the clinic work room. ๐๐ #IDSky #SafeSex
Smell of urine or poop is not an indication for antibiotics /sign of infection. Sometimes stuff just smells! ๐
Today, as an ID doctor, I used a tuning fork, on a real live patient. Many thanks to #DrRavenBoone for hoarding her old med student supplies & being able to bring it into work for me. ID docs - we really do it all. #IDSky
The ads also really changed. I was getting ads for anti-vaccine or anti-science support.
Weโll call this Thursday Tail-Tales- letโs meet some TempleID pets. This is Cal (left) and Blue (right).
Their fun fact is they are food obsessed. Theyโre fed on a timer and theyโve memorized the timing so they start meowing up a storm when itโs time to eat. #TheBest #PetsofID #IDSky
What should our 1st official post be? Vaccines save lives? Name
Your favorite antibiotic? Re-intro to our amazing fellowship program? Harm reduction love? Why ID is the best job? Pet introductions? ๐ถThereโs so many options! #IDSky
This was a great primer to learn about the good place.
