With terns (and other birds) still being reported to be affected by #HPAI in their wintering areas, and the disease not having left the breeding areas either, we cannot rest assured that we won’t be facing further outbreaks in the upcoming breeding season.

Stand up for our wild places! The Prime Minister is backing proposals to weaken protections for our most important wild places by expanding the Fingleton Review’s recommendations. Help stop the rollback before it starts.

The Prime Minister is backing recommendations that could strip away vital nature protections and leave some of our most important wild places exposed to damaging development.

Speak up and help stop this rollback before it starts πŸ‘‡

100% pal. The Alston ones often leave pretty late (mid-late April in some years) and get really vocal before they go. Joyous to see and hear.

I eagerly await her return each year & this morning, there she was! πŸ₯° #Curlew CJ6 ringed as a chick in central #Finland in 2012, this is her 13th spring staging on the #AlstonWetland patch. 3-4 weeks fattening up on #Lancashire's finest earthworms then she'll be off once again. #waders #shorebirds

Infuriating & sadly reflective of the norm. In my experience, developers will try and get away with not bothering, knowing the likelihood of a council enforcement order is highly unlikely. Agree that engaging site managers then pestering regularly is the only way to ensure bricks are installed.

A dead Puffin lies on wet sand, its black and white feathers darkened and slick against the beach. The bird rests on its side, wings folded, with its distinctive orange bill clearly visible against the pale sand.

A dead Puffin lies on wet sand, its black and white feathers darkened and slick against the beach. The bird rests on its side, wings folded, with its distinctive orange bill clearly visible against the pale sand.

Heartbreaking: Right now, thousands of Puffins are washing up along our coasts and further afield.

It is devastating to see.

These birds are Red-listed in the UK and already under serious pressure.

Mass deaths like this, known as a β€œseabird wreck”, can take years for colonies to recover from...

Puffins struggle to survive as Storm Chandra sweeps country The Scottish SPCA has urged people not to touch any puffins found on beaches and instead call the charity for advice.

Not only have storms been hampering our plans to get to #islands recently, they've also been causing difficulties for #seabirds foraging on their wintering grounds at sea. We can help seabirds when they come to land, ensuring nest sites are free of invasive predators www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Packed house at Oxford Farming Conference today - and no wonder.

Farmers shared powerful, real‑world stories of nature‑restoring agriculture delivering hope, resilience and better livelihoods.

Proof that farming working with nature just makes sense.
