Then why the use of 5 (!) question marks?
Then why the use of 5 (!) question marks?
Correct.
My view is that - because Virgil has been so public himself - then he no right to be annoyed by the club going public, but that regardless, he will be annoyed.
Because if he wasn’t bothered about us knowing, he’d have told us himself that he’s sitting on an offer for ages.
Eh? I capitalised the ‘shouldn’t’ so you’d see how ‘shouldn’t be bothered’ and ‘isn’t bothered’ are two completely different things?
I’d say that close to 100% of football journalists stories at this level involve ‘using’ of some sort.
Even if that’s usually just as mundane as a club giving journos some news in order to keep those journos onside/relevant.
Hopeful that’s the case here but suspect not
I agree that he SHOULDN’T be bothered, given that he has so frequently told the public about dealings (i.e. I haven’t been offered a contract yet).
p.s. I’m neither miserable nor edgy. Just objective. It’s clear to me that VVD contract will get signed at some point because there’s clearly a will, both sides.
It’s also clear to me that Trent has no intention of signing. He’s gone. Call that miserable if you like but remember me when it happens.
Also, the briefing is explicitly at pains to point out that LFC have made the offer, some time ago, and that VVD has not accepted.
No. If it was a standard ‘here’s a tidbit to keep you journos onside’ briefing, then they’d do the standard ‘trusted circle’ WhatsApp (Joyce, Pearce, Reddy, Orny, Lewis Steele etc). This was done for Quansah and Konate offers recently.
The Orny approach seems v different.
Yes. I even wrote it down to show that I think that.
You’ve lost me there I’m afraid.
Anyway, I’ve noted that you think I’m full of shit, not much else I can say to that when you’ve offered nothing constructive.
Enjoy your evening.
With respect, if you want to leave a sarcastic comment without offering any constructive contribution, wouldn’t you be better doing that on Twitter?
LFC taking the trouble to brief Ornstein on the Virgil contract is not great news it might initially seem.
It means LFC feel the need to switch the public narrative from the club to the player, try to force his hand.
That won’t be appreciated by the player and this may drag on.
Salah’s current deal is worth around £500k p/wk. After signing it, Salah and his agent presented it to Harvard Business School as a case study of how to take the piss out of a football club.
I’m going to respectfully suggest this will have made LFC cautious about ‘just giving him what he wants’
Welcome.
I’d forgotten about Elliott who is also back in training and may be available in a few weeks
Knew I’d forget someone 😔
Mac Allister - 90min (Tue)
Szobo - 90min (Tue)
Gravenberch -19min (Tue)
Jones - 78min (Sun)
Endo - 90min (Tue)
Diaz - 90min (Tue)
Gakpo - 13min (Tue)
Salah - rest
Nunez - 45min (Tue). Possible concussion concern.
Jota - rest/injured - likely back in 2 weeks
Chiesa- rest (back in training, 2 weeks)
LFC - this weeks workload/health report
Kelleher - 90min (Sun)
Alisson - rest (back in training, likely back in 7 to 10 days)
Virgil - rested completely
Konate - 90min (Sun)
Tsimi - 90min (Sun)
Robbo - 90min (Mon)
Bradley - 90min (Mon)
Trent - rest/injured - likely back in 7 to 10 days
Gakpo was given just 13mins at the end of the last nights game so I imagine he will play at the weekend in place of Diaz.
Darwin (45mins) Mac Allister (90 mins) and Luis Diaz (full game) all played over the past 24hrs.
Looks like Darwin is the only slight injury concern, coming off at half time after taking a heavy free-kick to the head.
Like King Kenny himself, we now have a 7 emblazoned on our backs. That’s 7 Liverpool Fan starter packs.

Thanks very much!
If there’s to be a volume 8, could I get an add please?
Robbo’s still only 30.
A lot writing him off just because he’s started slowly. Personally I think he’s carrying a knock and will get back to himself when that’s sorted
Agree. The one one is so messy.
Kerkez just turned 21 last week so yeah, he’d probably benefit from guaranteed first team football for a while longer.
I think Robbo will see out his contract at Liverpool (June 2026).
Celtic can’t pay more than perhaps £35k p/wk so no chance of a transfer until then.
I do think that Bradley has a high ceiling and that a season of first choice football could do wonders for him
The Kerkez to Liverpool links made in Hungary seem to have reasonable credibility but the reality is that he absolutely will not be joining in Jan unless one of Robertson or Tsimikas leaves - which also is simply not happening.
Summer looks much more likely.
Hah. ‘X-odus’.
V.good.
