Completed cross stitch in 6 inch hoop with an image of fire and the text 'B is for...burn it all down'
Me: I should make something calming. Something serene.
Also me: BURN IT ALL DOWN!!!!
A little reminder that sometimes the only way out is through. And sometimes through might involve, you know, flames... π₯ π€£

It's ok so far - don't love it, don't hate it. I'm listening to the audio and it might have been better in print. There's lots of stuff about her grandma and honestly, I don't really careπ€·ββοΈπ I would recommend Philippa Gregory's Normal Women though. Listened to that on audio then bought the paperback

How far back in time can you understand English?
An experiment in language change
If you liked this experiment, I published a full piece today in the same vein: a text that gets 100 years older with every section, from a modern blog post to a medieval chronicle.
It's a single story spanning 1000 years of English. See how far you get.

An update on one of the personal cross stitches. The fact that there are 4 different colours in this section so far, is probably one of the reasons I'm going a bit cross eyed π

So glad to see George Cottrell being named in parliament yesterday. He was Farageβs head of fundraising when he convicted of an offence related to money laundering & is still close to & funding Farage. Crypto is an urgent democratic threat to the UK

A finished cross stitch in a wooden embroidery hoop reading 'I have no idea what Iβm doing' in pink thread, with decorative blue floral borders, photographed against a pale wooden background with a βCompleted cross stitch, ready to hangβ label
'I have no idea what Iβm doing' is, unfortunately, extremely accurate.
So I stitched it. For emotional support.
Thereβs a finished hoop and a pattern now, but mainly this is about the vibe πͺ‘β
