A bad workman will always blame his tools, haha
Back from being mia because of op π€ now on route down to airport to attend Berlinale Film Festival! π then will be the mad dash back at end of the week to attend a film careers fair thing in London on same day I land (flying back crack of dawn before rest of the group fly back haha!)
That's a true point!
Gotta say I do love a good hardcopy of work, scratches a good itch in my brain seeing a piece of paperwork in physical form
Think that's why even though our work is submitted digitally at Uni, I'll still print hardcopies off and definitly will for my dissertation haha!
I'll whip up a list for you when I get home! Script analysis is super interesting!
Ugh as for Excel that programme is the bane of my existence πππ fantastic bit of software but always feel like it's a perpetual learning curve hahah!
Literally feel on top of the world right now π I achieved highest band of grades (UK grades for Uni are so weird, honestly, but it's like the equivalent of an A)
Degree on International Film & TV because it's all to do with production coordination based roles
That is a question with a bit of a complicated answer π simply put; I've always took part with the paperwork side of the projects through uni including taking the film festival organising module as it's all the planning and organising that has been my strongest ability
Looking to do the masters---
Okay, that's enough 1:30AM nighttime mulling for one night, I think. Back to dissertation work after some sleep
Can thank one particularly awful lecturer for completely destroying my confidence in that regard as felt I was more than capable of making a successful career, because I know my abilities and know my strengths and skillets, I am confident in those without a doubt
Not to mention, I still would absolutely love to make a career in film after university.. especially involving production coordination, script work or even assistant work, but at same time, I feel like I'm not good enough for that either π
I've officially entered the "I'm Lost" phase of my life π
It's been suggested to me a handful of times now in the last week alone that I should consider becoming a lecturer because of my love and natural knack for planning and research... and yet somehow, even simply considering it makes me somehow feel like an imposter..
Carl Weathers, who starred as Apollo Creed in the first four Rocky films, has died. He was 76.
3 days late, the countdown to attending the Berlinale Film Festival has begun!
Then, flying back to the UK at the crack of dawn to attend the London Film & TV Job Fair on the same day too, else the original flight back would have landed after it had finished!
Got to love a well organised plan!
Isn't that the truth! I definitely felt that during one of my scriptwriting assignments that was actually an adaptation piece, and it certainly feels like an unusual sense of tug of war with yourself and the narrative which in the end you just have to graciously loose and ultimately benefit from!
You're welcome! I have just read it and it's an enlightening read! It explains an important aspect of adaptations that I've not seen deeply explored, so far, in my research in the discourse concerning textual vs thematic fidelity in a visual medium nor fully considered that aspect myself! Thank you!
"Why The Book Is Always Better Than The Movie"
Ever wonder why the book is always better than the movie? Want to avoid that problem in your own writing, and filmmaking?
Today, let's talk it through. Check out my blog post on The Angry Noodle, and let me know what you think in the comments!

Definitely want to check this out! My dissertation is on Film Adaptation Theory, so far Linda Hutcheon's work has been very informative about adaptations but it's a subject I enjoy even outside of my dissertation (makes for fun challenges doing scriptwriting honestly)
