DIMORPHODONS Waui HAND OF GLORY LP/CD/DL The long-awaited debut album proper from Dimorphodons (aka Will Twynham) filters psychotropic pop smarts through a whole galaxy of mad clattering drums, keening disembodied voices, Flo & Eddie screams, buzzsaw shards of brain-shattering fuzz and feedback, shimmering hall of mirrors keyboard parts, thuggish glam-disco stomps, riffs the size of tectonic plates, blissed out harmonies, astral synth twiddles, sludgy slow-mo doom-stoner grooves, swoonsome spacey baroque flourishes, crystalline jangles, kaleidoscopic waves of overlapping melodies, animal noises, nosebleed-inducing levels of phasing, swooshing oceanic soundscapes and, in "Slave To Rough', an offhand, hilarious bone-dry gag about Status Quo's "Down Down' ("A record by the Status Quo/Not the worst one though"). Waur often has a lot of this going on simultaneously and is all that's good about psychedelia put into a cannon and fired point blank into your ears.
