Classically trained in playing pretend
Imagine all the cool, fast trains we could have with the billions we spend on bombs.

please explain what is a wordcel
interesting how he equates giving this (obviously bad faith) dude the "benefit of the doubt" with being more rational and less "emotional."
I don't think this is minor at all -- when educational institutions are run using corporate logic and austerity, you get nonsensical shit like this that is at best very annoying and at worst materially harmful esp to the already "vulnerable." public information is not a real thing for technocrats
fireeeee analysis and visual presentation
damnnnnn good rec thank you
trump parents= hopefully* at most 30% of the population (*as in if we could organize a majority we'd be able to change society)
woke millennial man= idk 15% maybe even 25
so it's the remaining 45-55ish% whose political will we need. and these fuckers are uniquely braindead.
Like it, love it, want some more of it: radically democratic philosophical bro culture
"The virtue in most request is conformity. Self-reliance is its aversion. It loves not realities and creators, but names and customs. Whoso would be a man, must be a noncomformist" (Emerson "Self-Reliance")
"Not enough people trust us. Not you. Us. As in: the mainstream media. We can debate *why* that is, but the numbers tell the story. According to a recent gallup poll, just twenty eight percent of people say we have their trust"
What an absolute twat lol
u r not immune to propaganda : )
i think this MLK day the thing to focus on is the strategic focus and tactical brilliance of the civil rights movement and the way it was laser focused on a set of achievable goals
the lashes omg
more and more I think these folks should have to go through a mandatory 2-year liberal arts and sciences program

Here's a really easy New Year's Resolution:
If you're sick with something contagious, you will stay home if your circumstances allow.
If you can't stay home, you will mask around others until there is no possibility you are contagious.
By making these choices, you will literally save lives.
now explain to me how you get from this to my brother (non-college educated but successful self-taught computer software engineer guy at some executive level in major insurance company) who recently asked me earnestly if psychology was "real" and that he was "open to all sides." I don't get it!
βThatβs Holocaust shit. Come on.β π
I'm told that HHS has just terminated all funding agreements with the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Here's a letter HHS sent canceling one of the grants, relating to work on birth defects. Canceled because the project "emphasizes equity, diversity, and inclusion as key foundational components"
We need to flood them with letters now. Write today!

there's so much here to think about. I had wholly eliminated this language (after like 3 years of having to actively pause and use a diff word - I needed to unlearn my internalization of these slurs as a person with CPTSD) and in just the last month it's like this work never happened.
key concept: IMAGINE IF
