Why did your character become an adventurer?

It's one of my favorite #ttrpg questions. It reveals so much about who they are and what they want from life, even if that's just between you and the GM.

And using your perception can lead to some *wildly* different conclusions based on your character!

I miss the alternating feats and ASIs with level ups from 3.5e. I love how feats add flavor, but I always end up picking ones that give a +1 to something so I don't feel as left behind at higher levels

GM Tip: Boss fights feel more epic with phases or environmental changes. When the dragon hits half health, it takes flight. When the lich's phylactery breaks, it goes berserk. Dynamic encounters help elevate them.

GM Tip: To help your players learn complex subsystems like combat, have the NPCs engage with the rules you want to teach, and then call out how it works as they do so. Have them take cover, hide, use the help action, etc.

YES!! One of the coolest things we did in character backstory for a Lvl 7 start was creating 2 truths and a lie about our characters that would be rumors about them. That campaign is still going strong 5 years later, and our rumors are catching up to us
