Here’s one way to slash Britain’s rate of child poverty: stop dithering and make all fathers pay what’s due | Polly Toynbee www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...
When are we going to stop enabling abusive men to continue their abuse through family court?
Life is too short for fake butter, fake friends and faking orgasms
Here’s the reality: children sexually abused by family members are being sent right back to their abusers by family courts.
So much needs to change. How I wish my abuser - my father - had been removed from the home. He was not. #CSA #ChildSexualAbuse #familycourts

It's not every day @jessphillipsmp.bsky.social calls you a West Midlands legend 🤣
Looking forward to meeting with both @cateccles.bsky.social and Jess Phillips to ensure that coercive control forms a key part of domestic abuse training.

when you stop reading "believe women" as "women never lie" and see it as "one of the foundational myths of patriarchy is that women can never be trusted" it makes a lot more sense.

Coercive control is a continuous cycle, it is always happening, it's never a one off. It is often difficult to identify coercive control as abuse and even with physical violence, you don't put the two together.
Coercive control happens long before any physical violence occurs.
Coercive control takes away a person's identity.
Intimidation, isolation and emotional abuse are tactics used by a perpetrator to exert power and control, gradually eroding the survivors sense of self worth.
You become programmed to exist, existing on autopilot to stay alive.
It is no coincidence that a man jailed for repeatedly kicking his girlfriend is now an MP in the House of Commons and the US president elect has been found liable for sexual assault. The normalisation of VAWG comes hand in hand with chauvinistic language on display in the hard right
I’ve created a (currently very small!) Starter Pack specifically listing experts by experience, researchers, practitioners and policy makers working to end economic abuse (globally). Please share, make suggestions and tag yourself if that’s you and I will update as we go.

BREAKING: Conor McGregor is a rapist woman beater.
A jury has found that McGregor assaulted woman at Dublin hotel.
McGregor has been ordered to pay nearly €250,000 in damages to Nikita Hand after he was accused of brutally raping her.
This is a legal blog about a family court case reported so well by Lara Feigel for @right2equality.bsky.social It portrays beautifully and sensitively the huge human cost of the proceedings for survivors and the harsh process and the unrealistic world created by the adversarial system.
If we aren't talking about coercive control we aren't talking about domestic abuse because it's there at the beginning and it's there at the end.
Domestic abuse is about power and control, not physical violence alone.
Hello! My name is Julia but everyone calls me Ju. I’m a doctor but I gave up my medical career to fight for the NHS. Right now the non-profit I run (EveryDoctor) is running a really important campaign and 102 MPs are involved so far.
Could you possibly help me to reach more people on Bluesky?🤞💙
