I get that the "Author meets critic" is one of the preferred new formats of book publicity events, but if I was the author, I'd be intimidated and would ask to rebrand it as "author meets friend."

Biking is cool and all, but to do it regularly in the town I live is putting my life into someone else's hands. All around town there are "ghost bikes." White bikes with flowers around them placed where some cyclist was hit and killed by a vehicle. There is very little biking i frastructure here.
