My lab's first paper is out! We tested the ability of Klebsiella bacteremia fitness factors to enhance resistance to oxidative, nitrosative, and intracellular stress. Bacteremia fitness is significantly linked to nitrosative and macrophage-mediated stress resistance.

Great work from Zajeba Tabashsum, a very talented postdoc in my lab. Her paper describes how a host produced unsaturated fatty acid (palmitoleic acid) overcomes vancomycin resistance in VRSA strains. #AMR #Staphaureus
