Important #UrbanTruth, this time by @thebikinglawyer.bsky.social!
I feel this. Was so fortunate to be able to move away from high traffic noise. Interesting to think of access to quiet environments as a social construction of privilege
We did one Enid book, but mostly it applied to Trixie Belden and Little House.
About that $1,400 average tax cut. There is no actual average Nova Scotian. The avg includes the higher income and the lower income; one benefits 10 times more (fr HST & PIT cut). Income of $290,000 or more, taxes reduced by $2,600, income of $25K and less by $256. (Using SPSD/M stats can modelling)
We let the kids read them and then had honest discussions about what they noticed and pointed out the pieces they didnβt notice with our questions. It wasnβt perfect, but it was educational
$260M was how much the decrease in the HST cost. It would cover these cuts twice over.

Could someone please go update the Wikipedia entries for the US Menβs hockey team? βHe was a member of the United States team that won the gold medal in the 2026 Winter Olympics best remembered for having a good laugh at the expense of USA Women's Hockey with the president, and the FBI director.β
Save yourself lots of trouble and set the fund up with the Community Foundation of Nova Scotia. Itβs exactly what it was designed to do.
Thank you for taking the time to be thoughtful and responsive.
@terriclarke.bsky.social Thank you for the play-by-play today

Just because it's going to be important over the coming days.. I stand with the trans community, especially trans youth. Some of the strongest, most vibrant and amazing people I know are trans and we cannot allow the news cycle to ever take that away.
Guns kill people, gender identity doesn't.
Image by Lindsey Wallis of the Alberta Wilderness Association - bat walk in the Weaselhead in Calgary, Alberta - shows people on a bridge with bat detectors listening for bats overlooking a pond area with a pretty sunset and trees in the background. Remarkable as this is right in the city of Calgary. Above the crowd is an embedded image of a flying bat by Brock&Sherri Fenton with "echolocation" lines emanating from the front of the bat to show that the bat is echolocating! Text reads "Nature is not a place to visit, it is home." by Gary Snyder. Logo WCS Canada Alberta Community Bat Program albertabats.ca
Start seeing your property as habitat. What are you doing to support native ecology? Plant native trees and plants to help local wildlife - even in the city. Skip pesticides. Replace some lawn with native plants (and lower your water bill!). Turn off outdoor lights in summer. Small steps matter. π¦π‘πΏ

Liam is lucky; his hat helped identify and humanize him. But what about the thousands of other children in custody who have no names or faces to the public, despite having done nothing wrong and are now in detention?
Iβd even be excited with a quarter or half cake option. To, you know, share with a friend.
