I do not believe in Mercury retrograde but I believe in Mercury retrograde. Every single slide and electronic thing I have tried to use today did not work. 😡

I'm begging my fellow politicians, Illinoisans, and Americans to realize that right now, we aren't fighting over policy or political party.

We're fighting over whether we're going to be a country rooted in empathy and kindness — or one rooted in cruelty and rage.

We just FINALLY got rid of the snow from 4 weeks ago for the most part, there's still huge puddles everywhere and now there's potentially 10 more inches on the way. 😡
(I am still not moving to Florida!)

On a much lighter note, on this day in history, using the work done by Percival Lowell, Clyde Tombaugh discovered Pluto. And despite its declassification as the ninth planet, it is still a planet in my house. 😉

After Dale Earnhardt's passing, NASCAR instituted new safety rules and there hasn't been a death in the three major series. Ryan Newman, a graduate of Purdue's engineering program, helped design some of the safety measures which likely saved his own life in the 2020 Daytona 500.

25 years ago, Dale Earnhardt, the man who was larger than life on the track, left this realm. It's hard to believe, but it's been that long. There's still a hole that no one or nothing can fill in the sport.

In case anyone has any doubts about what is happening to our news, I had no idea that Jesse Jackson died, apparently overnight. Even here it is not trending. In different times, the passing of one of the most influential civil rights leaders of the past 60 years would have been top news.

That was the BEST Daytona 500 finish I've seen in a long time! Congratulations to Tyler Reddick and his owner, Michael Jordan. As if he needed any more accolades, now he's a team Daytona winner. 🏀🏁

I saw that Lindsey Vonn injured herself after bravely attempting to overcome a torn ACL. It was just on the NBC coverage and it was painful to watch. ☹️ I am proud of her for trying to give it all she had and I hope that she makes a full recovery.

Wow, that was absolutely beautiful. I'll have to go back and watch it, I recorded the whole performance. What a kind soul Bad Bunny is. He has shown more leadership in 15 minutes than those who shall remain nameless because I am sick of him ruining beautiful things.

I was wondering if that was him. Even if not, I have a strong feeling that it was symbolic and he was honoring not only him but all the children who have been victimized through this horror we are living in.
