It was a pleasure to welcome the Governor General's Foot Guards to City Hall along with Councillor David Hill. This iconic unit has a long history & is part of the city’s brand. They are a popular tourist attraction & I’m thrilled to learn they will add 60 members to their duties.
It was a pleasure to welcome students from St. Gianna school in Riverside South and Vimy Ridge school in Findlay Creek for a tour of City Hall. It was a busy day after their participation in the Veterans Affairs Canada ceremony for the 25th Anniversary of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
I was very touched and appreciative to be presented with the Community Service Award by the Ottawa Sikh Society at City Hall today with Councillor David Hill.

I am thrilled to welcome Gastops to City Hall to get an update on plans to build a manufacturing/R&D facility in the Riverside South Business Park. The 50K square foot HQ will house 200+ staff. The new facility is the area’s first major employer & will help energize local jobs!
In honour of Vimy Ridge Day, this morning I joined veterans, community members, Councillor Steve Desroches and MPP George Darouze and The Royal Canadian Legion in Manotick around the Vimy Oak tree at Claudette Cain Park, which was grown from an acorn in Vimy France.
A very special ceremony today in Riverside South to honour the legacy and sacrifice of the Battle of Vimy Ridge. I was pleased to be joined by members of the Royal Canadian Legion, @mayormarksutcliffe.bsky.social, and MPP George Darouze in Claudette Cain Park 🇨🇦 Lest we forget.
