Looks great! ππ
Sometimes that's all it needs. π€π
How long did you rest your singles? This has happened to me when my singles had a lot of energy. I wet block to see how the finished ply acts. If it's over or under-plied, I just run it through the wheel again. I notoriously under ply, though I check my balance as I go. Nature of the beast. π€
I've had singles rest from 1 day to 2 years. π
When I finish the last bobbin on my current spin, I'll most likely ply the next day or the day after.
Current spin is a hand-dyed natural grey merino. Such a smooth easy spin. Just lovely. I have 3 @ 115 grams to make a 3-ply. Aiming for fingering to sport. It will be interesting to see this plied. #handspinning #chaoticfibres #EEW6 #handspun

The teal skein is BFL SW and the Peachy skein is Eco-Superwash 20.5-Micron Merino.
Finished two quick spins. I love them both. Fibre is hand-dyed by my nikkislipp on Etsy. These are awesome, fun 4oz. combos. Both almost the same yardage @ 267yds & 260yds. Both sport weight. I'm thinking they will knit up into nice simple cowls. #handspinning #handspun #EEW6 #fibre #handspunyarn
Lovely! π
Yes, I finally watched and this is why I find the world is depressing. It's just about money. Besides crafting supplies, they have infiltrated veterinary services, etc...
I haven't watched yet, but it looks interesting. #knit #Knitsky #crafting #KnittngFeed #yarn #craftlovers #crochet #crochetingfeed #spinning #handspinning
I'll also start physiotherapy soon. Still a long road of healing ahead, but at least I can be more productive.
My leg is tolerating being in a sitting position for short spurts and I'm able to spin again for about one hour increments. I need to elevate my leg regularly because the swelling becomes painful. I was given the okay to start partial weight bearing of 25% of my body weight this week. π
A little spinning is beginning to happen again. This handspun is a 2-ply @ 487 yards/200grams. Fibre is South American Wool/Viscose Blend purchased on Etsy from Sparrows Reach. #handspunyarn #handspun #handspinning #EEW6.1 #onthemend

This will be a really fun spin for you. I can't wait to see it spun up! π€©
I also learned that bone doesn't start healing until the 6 week mark, whether you're young or old, hence the no weight bearing until after that point.
This past Thursday I had 20 staples removed and only some of the stitches. Doc decided that the centre section needed more healing and put me on antibiotics. The swelling is still incredible, but it's only been 2.5 weeks since surgery. I do feel like #handspinning now, though...maybe even #knitting
Mine was out from 7:30am. Just came back around 9:30am
π
I'm the same. Seeing other's progress/FO's brings me joy. π
Thank you. π Still crazy swollen. The odd twinge, but meds help. I'm on blood thinners because of being immobile. Just overall yuck.
Thank you. π
Thanks. π
I have one. I'm just currently really uncomfortable to spin anything consistent.
I was really looking forward to this yearβs #tourdefleece but I broke my stupid leg last Saturday. A tibial plateau fracture, no less. Had surgery late Tuesday night. 1 plate and 2 screws, Iβm told. Non weight bearing for 6-8 weeks. π£ Have fun fellow spinners. #handspinning #tourdefleece2025
I adore the pinky orange, but you can't go wrong with any of your choices.
That is hardly boring! It's very creative and exciting. You have a goal. That's what matters. βΊοΈ
