Ruari - Out of all the family remember how it was Ruari who showed the most hatred to George on the night that he went to apologise. I reckon on NYE Ruari splashed on his dad's aftershave and grabbed Kate's chardonnay to impress Paul. The attack might have been a drunken impulse.

I can't see this ever being a healthy relationship even if George does learn to control his misogyny anger and victim issues.
She was gaslighting George through that entire first conversation, accusing him of paranoia, flipping out, spiralling. She reacted as if he'd told her to STFU when he asked he to be quiet. Then she ended with a practically spelled out Do You Understand.
