Yesterday was a very productive writing day! I wrote almost 8 pages worth for one essay I’ll be workshopping in class next week, then was able to write a short essay about my niece and nephew I’m thinking of submitting for publication. I absolutely love being a writer 🥰

What’s the point of fighting for a friendship when you’re the only one fighting? 🙃

I’m calling it, I’m temporarily DNFing The Shining. I cannot stand Jack Torrance, and while there are some creepy and disturbing moments here and there, it’s just too slow for me. I also felt this way about the film 🙃 I know the build up eventually pays off, but I just don’t want to read it now.

Goals for the weekend:
1. Continue to clean depression pit (aka bedroom 🥲)
2. Finally finish The Shining. I want to start Let The Right One In, but I promised myself no starting anymore physical horror books until I finish The Shining.

I definitely am the latter. I’ve tried mapping things out and outlining while writing, but I always stress myself out too much about that. A general idea of what I want to write helps me write better, fiction and nonfiction

So I wrote a zombie cheerleader story that I really like a couple of years ago for this football themed horror anthology. I never submitted the story, but I would like to do something with it, though I’m not sure who would accept a silly story about a cheerleader that becomes a zombie 😅

Absolutely agree! Sometimes, I just don’t have the energy or motivation to write, and those breaks are necessary. Whenever I come back to it though, I always feel incredibly inspired 🙌
