you should stop pretending nobody notices what you're specifically avoiding addressing
you should stop pretending nobody notices what you're specifically avoiding addressing
Admittedly I do not know if you specifically are or just picked it up from somewhere, but the "perfect" line has long been trotted out(along with similar phrases like "purity test") to paint voters' problems with Harris as a minor squabble while also obfuscating the nature of the "disagreement"
Because "perfect" doesn't tell us much. What was the "perfection" the voters wanted from her, specifically? Why was it an unreasonable demand, as your choice of words implies?
define "perfect"
those two things aren't unrelated. the candidates job is to convince people to vote for them, and if they fail to do that they don't get votes. this is basic cause and effect
Carney is doing the same shit so maybe not
those games also whip ass btw i highly recommend them if you haven't tried them
i guess if square isn't going to use dragon quest builders nintendo's gonna take it instead
not that threading the needle would have been a good idea either
She didn't thread the needle, she slammed that needle into "Israel gets to do whatever it wants, full stop" and lost
genocide being unpopular isn't a conspiracy
Israel didn't give a shit who won as both candidates had promised them carte blanche
I know Jonathan Howard is not the world's most evil man, utterly debased in both words in action, but what if he was? I await your apology
man i had to dig down into a dark place to approach that discussion and it turns out they were just mad that their teacher wouldn't let them say the n word in class or something
yes "we" chose it, not like the system was designed from the ground-up to empower people like him exclusively
"our" society
a teachers' job is to help kids make sense of the world. this can have very good or very bad outcomes depending on the individual teacher.
there definitely needs to be greater oversight to catch and punish those who abuse the position but the profession isn't irredeemable like cops, they do good
for the record i sympathize, what i got from teachers was generally a range of apathy to outright abuse, but i think you're projecting your experiences on the whole profession.
like i think people underestimate how much one bad teacher can ruin a kids life but i dont think theyre evil as a whole.
they have but they kick off all their letters with like "as you know the savage iran must be utterly wiped off the face of the earth"
like i was utterly failed by education in multiple ways so i am obviously not emotionally sympathetic even though i know, objectively, that teaching is a good thing and teachers in general are vastly underfunded and underappreciated
i was just directly responding to that person saying that being a teacher is one of the best things an adult can do with their life, hence why i said i have no stake in this argument either way.
i don't have a horse in this argument but as someone who has been abused by a teacher, i can assure you that being a teacher does not make an adult a good person
otoh they added it in the first place, so fuck 'em
i mean, it's neera tanden her being a horrible person is not surprising
tbf both sides of the excuse check out: Israel being a rabid dog that will not rest until every last arab is dead and the US being willing to go to war rather than reign them in in any way
I don't think they "realized" it, they made the laws so that they were above them.
she uplifted trump then lost to him
trump really really does not want boots on the ground, so welp
was surprised then saw the complete lack of punishment, of course
not to any real success, of course
