Just reading @aptshadow.bsky.social’s latest, ‘Pretenders to the Throne of God’, having another ‘fuck me, that’s good’ moment, and thinking this is one of the most consistently excellent series I’ve read in years. So many series start strong, but then peter out, but this one is still roaring! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Doing a read through of him and a few other folks (like Alastair Reynolds). I read them as they came out, but never a concentrated reading to see common themes, etc.

Finally, I managed to get a copy of my favourite ever book with the original illustrations by Henrique Alvim-Corrêa 🙂
