We’re long past a point to where layoffs deserve to be seen as a form of industrial sabotage. The damage done to gaming and many other industries by mass layoffs following mass acquisitions is irreparable.
Ruined lives, squandered money, stripmined resources, businesses left fucking sabotaged.
Layoff protections should be given to employees as part of any acquisition.
You shouldn’t be able to buy up companies, stripmine them, and jettison the staff that made those companies valuable. That’s SUSPECT behavior, and should be fucking treated as such.
I’ve always liked Eurogamer and it’s disgusting to see another good site hollowed out by the corporate indulgence we charitably call “layoffs.”
The wholesale gutting of gaming press mirrors what the same breed of execucunt has done to gaming itself. It’s a ransack that should be regulated to fuck.

Keir Starmer full sprints out of Number 10 in just his underpants (sky blue with some faded yellow stains) and behind him is a swell of caterpillars and he’s running because it’s like The Shining but more political and Wes Streeting’s on his knees whispering “liberate tute me ex caterpillis.”
Outside, Wes Streeting is face down on the pavement, crying, because his suit is filled with caterpillars and caterpillars are in his briefcase and he came to Keir Starmer’s house to blame him for the caterpillars but he broke down over the caterpillars before he could knock on the door.
His wife is just screaming at him for there being so many caterpillars but he’s got to get ready for a long day of benefits cuts so he takes a shower but you guessed it only caterpillars come out of the shower and they’re on his shoulders and on some of his torso and up the back of his balls.

I don’t know what the common consensus on the series is but I liked it quite a lot.
Michael Showalter doing the “so long ago” standup set while the audience is in absolute hysterics may be the most I’ve ever laughed at a movie. It just goes on and on.

The UK government is looking to make legal for AI companies that which any ordinary citizen could be taken to court for. It is on the cusp of approving theft *only* in this case, a truly unequivocal “rules for thee, not for me” scenario.

America is one of only two countries in the world to still demand taxes if you leave the country. Other countries will allow and enforce it, too. They always get their pound of flesh.
Saving grace is you can’t be taxed twice, but America will want to skim any tax breaks you get.

I tried hard to get this across, to explain the preludes and not *just* call it genocide, but I was nonetheless painted as hyperbolic.
We’re so far past what I considered the “more convincing” outcomes to warn people about. We’re deep into the shit I’d have been laughed at for predicting.
As far back as the earliest pedophile-funded nontroversies about bathrooms, the actions against us explicitly fit the criteria for cultural genocide. It wasn’t merely rhetoric on our part - it was cold fact.

The bathroom and sports bullshit was beyond obvious - what do you think it means when you’ve set up a scenario in which a marginalized group cannot participate or use facilities? What do you think it means when they’re banned from public spaces?
