A perk of location drawing is ego dissolution. My head disappears and there're only the things "out there." Concerns of quality or reception spoil it. It's like meditating but better because my eyes have something to do and there's a record of the sitting.

Seattle Urban Sketchers meet-up at Wallingford Center but there's not much left there to draw. Donna, the dogs and I did dashboard drawings from the car. Donna finished in an hour so this drawing will stay grayscale.
My 8day media, motoring and buying blackout was game-changing. I read books, discovered new music, did some writing, yoga, met groovy people IRL, and the dogs and I went down with the sun to be at the park before sunrise. And no politics! Hesitant to come back. (Urbansketch from my time in Bangkok.)
Two days until my total media, money and motoring blackout. A gift to myself. (Drawing from my time in Oslo, Norway, a country with its act together.) #urbansketchers #boycott #blackout
I love a challenge. From 11/25-12/2 I'm going dark: no social media, no driving, no spending money at all. I'm looking forward to it. (Sketch from Jingdezhen, China.)
Last weekend's guest.
