I have been ranting about this for months. Everything people say LLMs do that’s useful (that’s not “I don’t want to think or make decisions”): grammar check, spell check, text to speech, speech to text, helping write emails… we’ve had this for decades!

Ah, so he’s one of those people who thinks coding is “just typing syntax” and not, y’know, THINKING THINGS THROUGH

The problem with vibe-coding isn‘t that people are outsourcing the “typing syntax” part, it’s that they’re outsourcing the “planning, logic, and structure” parts

Aaaaargh the point of *boilerplate* is that *it's the same every time and you only need one copy and use it every time* so *you don't need a device to generate it for you*

TAKE THE DOUCHEBAG TECHBRO CHALLENGE: Generate as much code as possible stolen from projects that have clearly defined licenses then feign ignorance if you get caught. How many times can you do it?

The game itself is free but new & returning players are often brought in with player-created-mods (which both contributes to keeping the game alive & potential customers for the 200+ Sims 4 DLCs)

EA benefits greatly from the stuff mod creators make, so it's sort of insulting to have a 70/30 split

I want people who are a part of making (supposedly) mid or bad games to still be employed.

I hate when people bring up how I'm an indie cartoonist who gets paid more per page than most working for publishers as evidence that everyone should be independent. We should be fighting to get ALL artists paid for their work. If you draw Spider-Man you should be making *way more* than me.

I think it's still fine to play the live-service game that's your favorite

Though it does feel hypocritical if someone dumps thousands of dollars into a live-service game and then celebrates the shutdown of Concord and Highguard as of those flops will dissuade all future live-service game releases

Stuff like Highguard and Concord failing won't disincentivize games industry upper management from making new live-service games

People regularly playing their live-service game of choice & giving it money just gives CEOs more examples of how rich they could be if they somehow took that playerbase

Highguard developers aren't a monolith, I think it's inconsiderate to not feel bad for the world designer who did everything right but lost their job due to bad higher ups and poor PR decisions
