And then there’s this guy …
May we all be as cozy as this cat.
I just got home a from a lovely dinner, but my stomach is GROWLING when I look at these pictures!
These glorious post-Christmas, pre-NYE days are made for one thing: binge reading novels while wearing jammies all day. No, I don’t want to leave the house. No, I don’t want to go with you on your winter hike IN THE COLD; what is wrong with you.
I had to go to the emergency room in London while on vacation several years ago. Had X-rays, bloodwork. Total charge? Zero. They must have thought I was pretty stupid, because I was at first very confused by that. I pay nothing? At all? Even though I’m not from here?
I love my job, but being a cat in our house might be the best gig in town. Thursday morning status meeting:
In THIS house, when you open this tin, you find cookies. Not multiple small containers of spices. Not sewing supplies.
“Have Yourself A Merriam Little Christmas”
Merriam, a career-oriented lexicographer from the city, returns to her small town for the holidays and meets Webster, a ruggedly handsome librarian, who shows her the true DEFINITION of Christmas.

5th person to be cured of HIV
“Today, researchers announced the Dusseldorf patient still has no detectable virus in his body, even after stopping his HIV medication four years ago.”
Spring Shabu-Shabu in Brighton is one of Boston’s great treasures and must be protected at all costs.
The pink-and-red ones second from the right are 🔥!
Text this morning: “Good morning from a cat who decided that he wanted to dig into the [laundry room] CVS bag filled with dryer sheets and lint. And then got his head caught in one of the handles, freaked out, and ran all around the house, until I dug him out from under the bed and removed it.”
An all-time favorite in our household!
Thanksgiving in a very beautiful place with Family-by-Choice:
Anyone who works in biotech IR or for a hematology company can only dream of this season starting this early (or at all). #ASH24 #JPM25
This dog is SO CUTE! It has become very clear to me (and to Dave, because I won’t stop talking about it), that my biological dog clock is ticking, and we need to adopt another dog (or dogs, plural) soon.
My better half is also somewhat allergic, especially to cats, but it does not stop him from rubbing his face on our kitties all the time. Sigh.
I have definitely been to London pubs that were cozy places for reading with a drink. Some of them even had dogs! But no comfy armchairs, alas.

Vivid memories of slogging through the snow in inappropriate footwear. As a lifelong New Englander, I was deeply ashamed of myself.
These are so great!
I often whine that Dave’s band’s shows are usually past my bedtime on a weeknight. And of course the one weekend matinee show that they have? I will miss it, because I’ll be at #ASH24. But you all should go if you’re in Boston that Sunday!
I hear pretty consistently from European buysiders that it's one of their high-priority conferences. Seems like a lot of US buysiders go now, too.
I wish there were bars where you could sit in a cozy armchair and read a book and drink a glass of wine, instead of sitting at the bar or a table. Basically I want a library that serves wine. And if there were some cats and/or dogs for petting, that would be great, too.
Arancini?
