Very much looking forward to delivering a talk this afternoon on mental health and Higher Education, using myself as a case study! Hopefully it'll be of interest, but we'll see! The event is full, so no more places, assuming everyone comes along! Again, we'll see!
Also, I'll be one of the ones staying up for the result! It'll be an interesting one, regardless of the outcome, in part because of the interpretations of what the result means for the state of British politics in general, & for the state of the parties, & possible attempts to project a GE meaning.

Each sentence is delivered using the same inflection! Very little time given to audiences to hear a message as the points are buried after delivery by the next. It's not a style used by effective oratory, which connect emotional arguments in a persuasive way.
Am I the only one who doesn't get on with Multiple Choice Questionnaires as exams?! Since High School, they've never really settled well in my head! Having to take them (or worse, draft them!) is close to my definition of hell. I appreciate they have benefits, but for me, I'd rather do a viva(!)

Even a year ago, Mandelson resigning from The Labour Party would be unthinkable. Now it seems unavoidable. His career has been littered with resignations surrounded by scandal. It was inevitable it'd end like this.

This kind of game-playing assumes everyone else is playing a game! Just be honest, and put your academics into the REF and let your dept stand on its feet. There needs to be some kind of rule against this kind of thing. Surely? #REF2029
The REF game-playing makes some depts do odd things - eg, forcing 50% of the academics onto T&S contracts in order to claim 100% of research-active staff are submitted to the REF! They do realise T&S colleagues still do research, right?
