Agreed. I'm working on moving east. We had hoped to be in Rhode Island hree years ago, but that COVID nonsense had to happen.

Time to update the bookmarks again, it look like.
LOL...nope. Just your wierd friend across the country who know odd trivia due to friends w/odd food allergies & such. Like finding the one Indian restaurran in the area that can actually make a vegan vindaloo that is safe for R to eat because they don't use a premade garam masala blend.
Peter was special. I obviously never met him, just followed his social media posts, but it showed.
But my brain is over-tired and neurospicy to begin with, and as I said, been locked in Welsh folklore for "a while" so it kind of went there on its own. π±
You said "incomplete", my brain took that to mean "partially unbakes" and I thought "is Diane trying to catch a fairy spouse now?" (Yes, I'm writing Welsh fairly tales...about a fool, a fiddle and a woman from a lake/)
They aren't wrong. I mean, 70+ years ago, he US helped liberate Europe from he Fascists, this time they can help liberate the US from them.
Dermatologists note that the tropomyosin in snails can potentially trigger the same immune response as in shellfish allergies, especially in individuals with high sensitivity.
Users w/shellfish allergies have reported reactions to snail mucin cosmetic products, likely due to protein similarity between shellfish tropomyosin & snail proteins.
The 75% cross-reactivity rate between mollusks indicates that people allergic to one mollusk may react to others, including snails.
The shellfish used in the production of Tyrian purple, also known as royal purple, includes:
Murex brandaris (spiny dye-murex)
Murex trunculus (banded dye-murex)
Stramonita haemastoma (dogwinkle or rock-shell)
And then there's the whole if I'm allergic to this, what else is it in merry-go-round...
Oh, and shellfish is a nasty one that likes to hide in a lot of places you might not expect it. Binding agents that aren't always disclosed.
Like fabric dyes. That lovely purple... sigh...
Depending on how severe the allergy is, yeah, it can even come through in that.
Such fun stuff, right?
Just found you on Substack as well.
Knowing that the expense is knocking at the door when the purse is low on cash is never fun. And that the toddler in the White House is playing one tin soldier with real people is not helping.

For the most part, same, although itβs still functionalβor at least it was three years ago. π€«
and my ICQ ids are both lower than his.
IRC was still working on some levels five years ago as well.
At least weβre long past 300-baud acoustic dial-up with cradle modems & 64K RAM is all we need. π.
This looks marvelous! Preordering once I get paid.
Thank you, Iβll be here all week, two show on Saturday. ππ€
Between the food allergies & sensitivities (ADHD/Gluten/etc) meal planning for the five of us is a logistical nightmare. Food label reading is a necessity due to hidden ingredients that can kill one or more of us. βBut itβs FDA Approved!β Doesnβt mean itβs fucking safe to consume. π€¬ Sorry, ranting.
What is most frustrating about that is that pork and chicken were the two animal proteins that the entire family could eat. So now when the rest have those I have to deal with a separate meal plan. Wife & I are the only two who really like fish and the smell makes 2 in the house ill so thatβs out.+
Fully understand that. Back in the early 90s we tried vegan; destroyed my health, kicked my lifelong hypoglycemia over into Type2 diabetes & created a cascading set of other issues. My body needed much more protein than it could provide on that. Post-roux-en-y, I simply canβt eat most animal flesh.+
Excellent. Writing is good, itβs what much of my week has been as well. My break time is catching up on social media. π€« I got the link, now have all four of them (hooray ADHD completionist complex!) and looking forward to #5.
Next on my list: bug Amanda about more from herβ¦ π€ Jeremy is after her. π€«
A beautiful cover of Sounds of Silence in classical Latin. H/T to Martin Smith via FB for the find.

Thank you. I searched by title, author, and title & author on the βamazingly horrible ordering monster websiteβ and it was unable to locate it. Bezos needs a better Bot. Now acquired.
LOL. Okay, so I am completely blind today. The sprouts really did look like okra on my phone, though. Now I want fried okra and roasted Brussels sprouts. I miss the pork, though. My body has decided that I am now vegetarian again, apparently.
That this US Administration is declaring these things is disturbing to me as someone of mixed heritage - Roma and Ashkenazi among them - but also as someone who does not adhere to their Republican Bible, which is neither chicken nor egg.
As a US Navy Veteran itβs even worse.
Whatβs the dead thing next to the yummy okra? π£
And my scheduled posts seem to be broken. This should have posted for Purim. π

@erikscottdebie.bsky.social I canβt find an order link. Help me out? Please?
@housedemocrats.bsky.social you need to get your house in order. You are not representing your constituents if you are supporting this ILLEGAL and UNCONSTITUTIONAL WAR CRIME.
Powerful words from a woman who should still be present. That interviewer, however, is horrible & shows how little she understands about what Katie endured. Sadly, par for the course with most such journalists. Nothing like parading victimization as commodities for entertainment.
I chose survival.
