Hope you had a fun read! This work was built on the previously characterised #Brisbane #River #Estuary, which is given here too :

The genomes encoded phosphoesterase, which could be involved in membrane destabilisation. These #holin #endolysins systems need further investigations of course (culturing/transcriptomics), since mixed membranes of their Poseidoniales host that likely contain bacterial/eukaryotic G3P backbones.
The novel Poseidoniales virus, Adrikavirales become more interesting. This genome encoded which could be novel archeal-like #holins. Additionally, LytA-like (N-acetyl muramoyl L-alanine amidase) #endolysin was found adjacent to these holins, possibly aiding in viral #egress (see Fig 7).
These Poseidoniales viruses encoded a unique functional repertoire of genes. Aside from virion morphogenesis, and genome packaging and replication, and AMGs such as #biotin synthesis, #cobalamin productio and metallophosphoesterase, amidoligase, glutamine amidotransferase (GATase) among others.
In our study, we uncovered and proposed new names for clade A and E, for which we had complete viral genomes.
Two magrovirus families
Apasviridae (group A)
Krittikaviridae (group E)
โฆ.and a novel virus order Adrikavirales, which were also associated with #archaeal host order #Poseidoniales.
In this paper we explore the #viruses, particularly #metagenomic #archaeal #viruses of the #Brisbane #River #Estuary. Interestingly, viruses associated with archaeal host #Poseidoniales (which are grouped into magrovirusclade A-E and X), of which the name for clade B has been recently proposed.

Thanks, Chris! Writing this one was fun!
Quick, efficient, old school feel
Yes please! Microbial Ecology/Ecogenomics, working with metagenomics, viral genomics, and meta-transcriptomics data.
Would like to be added please! Working on improving water quality in estuaries and rivers
"I'm still a good boi" ๐
Thanks!!
Yayyy to virus host interactions. Can you include me please?
Thank you!
Thank you!!
Could I be added please? I use metagenomics to study prokaryotes and viruses in a subtropical estuary.
I'd love to be added! New to the field but working on virus metagenomics.
Could I get an add? Thanks!
Hi Jan, I'd like to be included- thanks!!
New to @bsky.app ! Marine / Estuarine microbial ecologist, researching microbes and viruses using omics methodologies.
Hi Steve! Could I get an add? Thanks!
Hi Steve, could I get an add? Thanks!
Hi Joe! Could I get added to this group please? Thanks!
I'd like to be added to the starter pack. Thank you
