This is a study of a beautiful scarlet tiger moth that I've been working on. I found the pupa on the spine of a book in my studio back in the summer!

He still owes me around £300 for losses, and I would have had to pay customs charges too if the officer who contacted me hadn't taken pity on my situation. It's all a learning experience, though. Thanks for asking me about it.

Ah well, the gallery owner decided to pack up and return home to NZ! I only found out that he'd closed the gallery when a friend sent me a photo of the boarded-up frontage. I emailed the owner, and amazingly, he got back to me. He returned my paintings, but rolled up in tubes without their frames.😤

My local church, St Mary’s at Greasley, dates back to the 11th century. The only remains of the mediaeval building are a few stones in the east wall.

That's funny; you made me smile! And you're right; I suppose I was a little flattered, as he only absconded with a few of the other artists' work. Yes, I was very lucky to get them back, but now I feel sad that no one has stolen any of yours!

This painting was removed from its frame and stretcher frame by a previous, unscrupulous gallery owner along with two other pictures and smuggled to New Zealand! Anyway, I got them back! 😤
