I worked with the Cave Story publisher Nicalis for a few months developing a pixel art but higher resolution version of the game.

Getting the hang of #blender extension development. So excited to be able to start showing people Materialize, particularly riggers. It combines geo-nodes and object/data-block creation to allow for procedural rigging and skinning.
It bought in some concepts from dependent typing and constraint solving however
Was pretty proud of the way I approached polymorphism and also dimensionality (like 2d/3d textures and four channel vs single outputs)
But making sure everything was consistent between the two representations was a bit of a drag
Ran into so many of these issues when I was trying to make wbbl happen. Did make the choice to separate the edit structure and runtime codegen one which had some nice upsides in that nodes that were similar structurally or visually could share logic where it made sense.
Rigging is such a fascinating field but I worry that by focusing so much on it, I'm not getting the animation practice I need.
