M is an incredible piece of work. Peter Lorreβs performance is god tier stuff. Just extraordinary.

Was wavering over whether or not to see it next week. It wonβt be in IMAX sadly, but I think youβve convinced me.
Our experiences did differ considerably it seems. I knew it wasnβt going to be to everyoneβs tastes tbh. Still, an experience best had on the big screen, and I hope you found something to enjoy in it.
Thatβs interesting. I felt completely different about it. I thought he was very expressive despite the heavy make-up and I got big Karloff pathos vibes off him. Guess itβs in the eye of the beholder.
It works and makes sense. Theyβre the products of different scientists, created eighty years apart using different technology. Also Baleβs monster feels like the same monster from the Karloff films aged by several decades.
Really enjoyed The Bride! Messy but fun. Buckley is extraordinary, and Bale is Karloffβs lonely monster in a Sid-and-Nancy-in-Weimaresque-Chicago remake of Bride of Frankenstein. Some scenes will stay with me a long time. #TheBride
Plus three classics.

Happy Valentine's Day, comic lovers!
A lot of them come in sealed packaging too so the collector will never even get to see the cool vinyl, let alone listen to it. I made a decision early on with my action figures that I was going to crack them open so that I could *ahem* βfully appreciate their functionalityβ.
I think this is a good point. Especially when you consider all the variants that get released, coloured/picture/patterned vinyl, bonus tracks, etc. And when nearly every track is available digitally, itβs only certain audiophiles whoβll bother going to the trouble of getting a decent record player.
Almost a decade ago, @davidkitchen.bsky.social and I made an ALTERNATE GALAXIES ep on Babylon 5.

I'm always loathe to push people to our very early work as I think our eps are much better now, but hey, we make some good points and JMS liked the ep (true!) so try it :)
Yeah. looked at their timeline before they blocked me and they do seem a little βtroubledβ.
three panel webcomic 1st panel: one man says to another "we invented a robot that answers questions" 2nd panel: he continues "we just have to feed it 10 baby giraffes a day" 3rd panel: the other man asks "but it answers the questions correctly?" and the first man replies "oh my goodness, no. no no no no no."

Yes. It was such a hot mess. Iβd love to know what happened. I asked someone who worked on the series and they replied βIβll tell you in three years!β π NDAs I guess π
Belinda Chandra in the Tardis
Canβt sleep and still angry about the horrible treatment of Belinda Chandra, just the latest in a long line of female characters done dirty by RTD in Doctor Who. Itβs like heβs got a pathological need to give them crappy endings. It absolutely infuriates me. Too angry to sleep now. #DoctorWho
Yes! Thatβs the thing with Doctor Who, especially the original series. It doesnβt matter if the sets or costumes looked shonky. It was all about the story.
Maybe not. But the thought of arse cats has kept me awake.
Absolutely
Hmm. βCamp for straight peopleβ as Paul Magrs said recently. It feels like something happened with Millie Gibson and RTD doesnβt it? Seems to me that Ruby gets sidelined. I donβt think the Disney situation is an excuse for his ham-fisted treatment of female characters.
Makes a change to haemorrhoids I suppose.

The sainted Rose is the exception of course. Gets a new life and her own David Tennant Doctor to share it with. As does Donnaβ¦ eventually, (still doesnβt make up for the initial brain-fuckery).
