Was wavering over whether or not to see it next week. It won’t be in IMAX sadly, but I think you’ve convinced me.
Our experiences did differ considerably it seems. I knew it wasn’t going to be to everyone’s tastes tbh. Still, an experience best had on the big screen, and I hope you found something to enjoy in it.
That’s interesting. I felt completely different about it. I thought he was very expressive despite the heavy make-up and I got big Karloff pathos vibes off him. Guess it’s in the eye of the beholder.
It works and makes sense. They’re the products of different scientists, created eighty years apart using different technology. Also Bale’s monster feels like the same monster from the Karloff films aged by several decades.
Really enjoyed The Bride! Messy but fun. Buckley is extraordinary, and Bale is Karloff’s lonely monster in a Sid-and-Nancy-in-Weimaresque-Chicago remake of Bride of Frankenstein. Some scenes will stay with me a long time. #TheBride

A lot of them come in sealed packaging too so the collector will never even get to see the cool vinyl, let alone listen to it. I made a decision early on with my action figures that I was going to crack them open so that I could *ahem* “fully appreciate their functionality”.
I think this is a good point. Especially when you consider all the variants that get released, coloured/picture/patterned vinyl, bonus tracks, etc. And when nearly every track is available digitally, it’s only certain audiophiles who’ll bother going to the trouble of getting a decent record player.

Can’t sleep and still angry about the horrible treatment of Belinda Chandra, just the latest in a long line of female characters done dirty by RTD in Doctor Who. It’s like he’s got a pathological need to give them crappy endings. It absolutely infuriates me. Too angry to sleep now. #DoctorWho
Yes! That’s the thing with Doctor Who, especially the original series. It doesn’t matter if the sets or costumes looked shonky. It was all about the story.

Hmm. “Camp for straight people” as Paul Magrs said recently. It feels like something happened with Millie Gibson and RTD doesn’t it? Seems to me that Ruby gets sidelined. I don’t think the Disney situation is an excuse for his ham-fisted treatment of female characters.
