There's also Star Trek: Picard for a similar theme!

Senior Counsel at the Brennan Center, working on criminal justice policy and understanding the impact of federal funding cuts. Hopefully building a better world for everyone, especially two little girls. Views my own, dad jokes and sci-fi takes welcome.

Generations, handily enough!
Excellent and important writeup on a very worrying trend.
That's my signal!
You're probably using a gold nib with that filling system, so you're going to get some good flex in the nib for shading inks. Others have recommended Iroshizuku inks and I'll second Kon Peki, Yama Budo, and Momiji.
For a more exotic idea: Sailor Teatime / Afternoon Tea (lovely bright coral orange)
This is just the classic Star Trek TNG episode, "The Inner Light," and the answer is it makes you a solid flute player
The best argument I've heard is that it's an apples-to-oranges comparison. NYC's service is more frequent than DC's *while* offering denser coverage over a broader geographic area. All true! And yet!
They're gorgeous and -- controversial statement -- worlds better than NYC's.
We should want people to leave prison with the training, job opportunities, and access to housing that they need to successfully reenter their communities, @amescg.bsky.social told the @bostonglobe.com, adding that "federal support is a key part of helping make that happen.β
One of my most popular tweets on Twitter, years ago and since deleted, thanked our local library for highlighting how much you "save" with every library visit. It's a great way to show people the value of government services.

Parenting brought me back in touch with our local library and it's been an invaluable resource. Daughter discovers a new book series she likes? Great, they're all there for her to flip through and take home, free of charge. One missing? There's somebody on hand to order it through interlibrary loan.
What a fascinating framework. Congratulations!
The Trump administration has diverted law enforcement officers from across the government to help ICE, yet arrests have increased only among immigrants with no criminal convictions.
1. In an unusual press briefing today in AZ, Sec. Kristi Noem made the extraordinary (but vaguely delivered) claim that as head of DHS, she has authorities over elections, including to make sure that βthe right people are voting and electing the right leaders to lead this country.β That is false.
Our toddler picked up and hid the Valentineβs Day card I bought for my wife. No idea where it is, and she canβt tell me. Itβs the relationship equivalent of βdog ate my homeworkβ except it actually happened.
Amazing news. It's hard to overstate how important this period is and how few primary sources there are on it.

NEW: Another NIH institute director hasn't been renewed β the director of NIAMS (arthritis, musculoskeletal and skin diseases institute).
That leaves a whopping 15 of 27 institutes and centers without a permanent director.
As a dad this is really upsetting. "I love her, I'm so proud of her, and I will support her whatever decision she makes" is right there.
"Eliminate presidential immunity" needs to become as common a refrain as "eliminate Citizens United"
This could be done with a few light mods to Witcher 3
Great day for court historians, matched only by the birthday of Procopius, who secretly wrote an entire book about how his patron the emperor Justinian was a demon
Today as every day, the students, staff, and alums of Rice University are the real SuperbOwls π¦
What a heartbreaking development. CIA's World Factbook was one of my first introductions to real policy and data work, decades ago, as a new member of the Model UN team.
Wild to me that the average 3D printer works more seamlessly and reliably than the average paper printer, despite the latter being a decades-older and far simpler technology.
Suspend is an incredible feature
This is my struggle with Libby too! Just had a book become available after a ten month wait and... do I still want it? Maybe???
Here's the link to the full letter, which lists tariffs, USDA staff cuts, and reductions in foreign assistance (read: USAID) as factors weighing on farmers:
