12pts and4asts for Nolan Traore off the bench. Not as involved in creating opportunities but still had a few chances to do so. Struggled a bit with his finishing

My latest Turkey Day release for @draftstack.bsky.social: first impressions on the talented Arizona State freshman duo Joson Sanon & Jayden Quaintance
Talked a lot about San Antonio's Victor Wembanyama and Stephon Castle duo on the Post Game Theory show last night.
Dove deep on what makes them special, and why they're the future in San Antonio.
Also learned about the Area 51 nickname midway through the video as you'll see!

Quaintance only had one assist in this game, and this possession is blown dead before the shot, but hitting passes like this one to perimeter shooters will be big for him long-term.
At only 17, Quaintance is *big* and physical. He gave several upperclassman defenders trouble in the post in this game despite his ballhandling not quite being where it needs to be yet.
Quaintance has **21 blocks** through 6 games and is currently 2nd in the nation in blocks as a freshman at 6'9". These perimeter blocks are a regular thing for him—he does it again on Cal Poly's very next possession.
...which he follows up with this blocked 3-point shot on the other end using his reported 7'3" wingspan.
17-year-old Jayden Quaintance is *much* more raw on offense compared to Sanon, but he starts his best two-way sequence of the game with this nice drive off a little hesitation/fake handoff.
Sanon's offense (and mostly scoring) has been his calling card early, but his defense has been a bit better than advertised. Needs to clean up the reach-in fouls and be a bit more disciplined on closeouts, but this is one of many examples of moving his feet well/staying in front of his man.
For not being the craziest athlete on the planet, Sanon has been doing a good job at getting to the rim. Needs to keep this up and keep getting to the line.
...then immediately after, he shuts down a drive on defense by guiding Tarlac toward the baseline. After a miss, he runs back in transition and hits the corner 3 off movement.
If you know me, I'm a total sucker for 2-way guys. This is Sanon's best sequence of the game—he starts by hitting this nice contested pull-up j (seems to be a regular thing for him).
Ok folks, here we go: a little surface-level 🧵 thread 🧵 of some standout/interesting plays from #NBADraft prospects Joson Sanon and Jayden Quaintance in Arizona State's win over Cal Poly.
(I'll be talking about these guys much more in depth over at @draftstack.bsky.social coming pretty soon!)
Had a lil to much fun with fam yesterday to get this done 😅😅
Will be posting momentarily
Jeremiah Fears and LaBaron Philon in their first games since this was first posted:
The colors look a lil funky on TV to me sometimes but it looks great in person/in better photos
My hot (?) take is I’d take the NBA cup court over this and the normal court
Hanging out with family today for my mom’s bday and the holidays in general, but I’m going to be putting together a small thread here with some standout plays from Arizona State freshmen and #NBADraft prospects Joson Sanon and Jayden Quaintance.
Y’all tap in in a bit!!
Shocker: Dalton Knecht can shoot the s**t out of the basketball
me seeing lakers fans happy that they drafted dalton knecht
Not crazy at all! I was a little surprised he went back to school, but if you’re going to bet on yourself and come out and do *this*, I get it. Probably in the 20-25 range for me right now
I, too, am a Nique Clifford fan!
I have never been more ready
In terms of sheer draft value, what is your favorite position and/or archetype of role player to select and when?
E.g., I think there’s tons of value/upside in CGs in the late lotto-end of 1st round range. (See: Maxey, Carrington, McCain)
