I was thrilled to see the extraordinarily long inflorescences on Licuala bachmaensis in Mỹ Sơn Sanctuary, near Da Nang, and in the surrounding forest. It is endemic to Vietnam. #Arecaceae #IPSinVietnam #Botany 🌾🧪

In Fokus steht eine Irisblüte. Es handelt sich um eine Zwerg-Iris deren Details sehr gut erkennbar sind. Die Grundfarbe ist ein sattes Purpurrot, dass bei den Hängeblättern eine Spur tiefer ist als im aufrechten Dom. Die Hängeblätter haben ein gelbes Saftmal das von wenigen weißen Flecken begleitet ist. Das Licht der gerade aufgegangenen Sonne ist sanft, wirkt als Gegenlicht und setzt ein unaufdringliches Funkeln in die Farbe. Erde, weitere Blüten und austreibendes Laub sind erkennbar aber nachrangig - nichts lenkt vom Hauptmotiv ab.
