Money for war but they won’t feed the poor
Black and white image of black cat. No war but the class war written on
No war but the class war
So the candidate who left school at 16 with no A-Levels and who's spent her whole adult life vocational, manual jobs beat the ivory tower academic turned cushy media pundit, but you can be sure we'll still get plenty more casual description of the latter as "white working class".
Good luck! 🍀

Reminder that Francesca Albanese is not being targeted for a sentence twisted and lifted out of context in a speech.
She is being targeted for daring to name the names of giant companies complicit in the crime of genocide.
They would rather destroy international law than be accountable to it.

Right back to you Rhiannon!
New post: LABOUR'S SECTION 28 IS HERE - ACT NOW.
I explain how the Labour government's proposed revisions to the guidance on "keeping children in education" are designed to erase trans children in England. But it's not a done deal - there is plenty we can do to oppose this.
In this story, there is a lot of support for trans people that you rarely see covered in the media unless they're being attacked. Businesses and individuals all standing up and saying 'I will not be a part of this' and I think that needs to be highlighted because it can feel lonely out there.

Unite members in the north west on a picket line while taking strike action to defend Marie, their H&S rep, who is being subject to trade union victimisation by our employer.
Unite against TU Victimisation
@Unitetheunion.bsky.social doesn't tolerate the victimisation of its reps by employers. Today our members in the North West are showing what solidarity looks like.
It's time UCU ended the victimisation of Marie, our Health & Safety Officer.

It is in a block under construction in Ipanema. It is being re-sold off plan by the original purchaser. Asking price is 5.350.000 rials. I am told that this value will rise on construction and will follow Rio property prices up in coming years. I can forward property details to you in next few days but I would be grateful for advice from you on how HSBCPB in Rio can assist in helping me take the decision on this particular property and in a purchase. I also need some advice on tax implications in Brazil and UK. I am minded to place ownership, once secured, in Reinaldo's name and advice on this would also be welcome. Again, I’d love to know what Peter’s actual role was in the People’s Vote campaign; in the secret wrecking campaign that his protege Morgan McSweeney launched in 2018* and in Sir Keir’s leadership project.
*To date, only one lobby journalist has said she attended Morgan’s secret project launch.

One key recurring message from the NUWT, is the importance of recognising the fallacy of "now is not the time" - the real intention of this being to buffer against urgency, like the legislated-for delays in TU industrial processes, but generally coming from those within rather than outside the left.
It took until 1961, the year after E Thomas retired and the year before she died, for this agreement to extend to long-serving teachers like her as well as new recruits.
The film was made in the early 50s as the campaign intensified in the lead-up to equal pay for teachers finally being agreed in 1955 after decades of statements that the principle was supported from the NUT and the Labour party...
