Just a shout out to magnolias. Aren't they the most magnificent blooms?

Trump knows damn well him and Genocide boy can't bomb Iran indefinitely. He's now calling it a short term excursion. I wonder why? What has changed?

Post-apocalyptic Time I.Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β  Β  β€œHow did we end up in this hell?” is the question every Iranian I know asks. As I write these words, on the fifth day of the U.S.–Israel invasion of Iran, I am no longer certain…

"The lived reality of sanctions is one of suspension and erasureβ€”where past achievements fade from global recognition and future possibilities are systematically obstructed."

Shahram Khosravi on Iranian life under constant rupture.

They started off great. Sure Start, the minimum wage, helping families with tax credits. It felt like a golden age where people had support systems in place to help them thrive. Then the Iraq war happened and later the banks crashed and everything after that point seemed to change.

Happy #WorldBookDay2026. The French writer and philosopher Voltaire once said 'Let us read, and let us dance; these two amusements will never do any harm to the world.' πŸ“š

He also drank up to 50 cups of coffee a day, often mixed with chocolate.

I think we're onboard with this.

1st Match for me. A lot of flora seems to be budding up and the daffodils are out. I feel as if you can't determine spring by a calendar because weather patterns can shift. Either way it's nice to feel we are turning the corner after a cold winter and dark nights.

200 injuries and a miracle nobody was killed. That was thanks to the police who managed to evacuate 80,000 people following a telephone warning. I remember many false alarms in Liverpool city centre, so much so my Mum ended up not believing the alerts to leave department stores.

Going by the polls I have seen Labour and Green were on level pegging. Reform were two points behind. I honestly think Reform's bubble will totally burst eventually. By hiring ex Tories and lying to the electorate more and more people are seeing through their nonsense.

Hi Rich, I've been writing a lot and it's been half term as well. Social media isn't what it was sadly but I will still pop in. We are all OK, hope you are too x

Everything is fabulous. Don't listen to men. Except good historian men of course. 🀣 I love the boots! Historians and writers always have good boots. I met Philippa Gregory and she had amazing green boots on.

It's starting to feel like Spring here at Gladstone's library. Crocuses and snowdrops are popping up, geese are returning home after a long winter, and we've had more than a few animal visitors in our gardens. πŸ¦β€β¬› 🌷

I saw them headrest morning too. I thought there had been a crime at first as there was a forensic tent on the scene. 🀣

I still have my account for local links (events going on etc) but that is basically it. I wish people would leave and come here. Ive deleted the app and only access through Google to check what's happening locally. I never scroll.

BlueSky is great, I'm still here... getting over half term! 🀣

I've just been looking up sunrise times. I don't want to be travelling to the library in the dark anymore. It feels like this winter has been 84 long years. 🀣

I've been there with my eldest. Give her a due she asked a lad out he agreed but he just wanted to be friends. She was inconsolable for so long. All you can do is be there with advice and hugs. She is now 3 years into a relationship. But at the time, it felt like the end of the world.

They knew what they were doing. Destroying the country then the world was always their agenda. People were just too stupid to realise sadly. I have never forgiven those I knew who voted Brexit. A lot of friendships lost but hey ho.

It was so moving. Grief is funny isn't it? It can make us do extraordinary things. I think this says a lot about Konate's mindset. He was brilliant last night.
