I also want to note that trans people aren't the only community facing this treatment - deaths of black mothers in pregnancy, widespread mistreatment of neurodivergent people and people with chronic illness and many other issues result from a similar combo of political neglect and malice.
We're being dragged into a protracted war in a mountainous Asian country who hates us so much they would rather fight to the death than give us the satisfaction of winning. Sensational job by the idiots of our nation electing their representation in the White House.

My junior year of high school, the theater department did Cabaret. We were a private Episcopalian school, so this was kind of a big deal, and it made me realize that you can live your life under a rock and die by the Nazis or live by your rules and still end up dead by the Nazis. So do the latter.
A woman without a political POV is comfortable only because other women before her fought, bled, and spoke, while she quietly enjoys the shelter and pretends the storm isn't hers. Nobody's asking you to become an activist. But pretending that nothing is happening is starting to look like a choice.
I'm gonna add-
Do not reflexively say "Thank you for your service."
Under this admin, it's downright infuriating.
If you had any respect for our service, you would hold Congress accountable for allowing the destruction of our Constitution & the nation we served.

Caladenia falcata - the Fringed Mantis Orchid
To me, this orchid exudes drama with those upswept sepals and a broad labellum that is tipped slightly back. Endemic to Western Australia and flowering from late August.
