Seems kinda like a "win more" mechanic, in that you'll only want to station them when you don't need to block (for instance, you can play a creature and station with it even though it has summoning sickness - you'll just lose out on a blocker).

Very nice 👌 🍒 seeing Quibbles die in the middle of a race has got to be one of the funniest things
But yeah, Ufo 50 is great. I haven't even tried a lot of the games yet, but there have been so many games I've already got stuck on. Party House (cherry), Campanella (cherry), Rakshasa (cherry), Avianos (cherry), Campanella 2 (not even close to beating it)
Also, buying and training bad Quibbles is a great strategy I've found. Training them regularly increases their performance a lot, and you get huge returns on their bets.
I cherried it! My strategy: in the last round, go all in on a Quibble with 1:8 odds or something (just need 1k or 2k dollars saved up, and a loan can also help), and try to make sure it'll actually win (through whatever means). I got it on 2nd try with that strategy.
Ufo 50 is so good. Quibble Race restored my faith in mankind

The dungeons definitely feel like Zelda dungeons to me, but even the overworld areas have a ton of rewards for exploration
I thought the basic gameplay (combat, exploration, puzzle solving, finding secrets, etc) was pretty fun 🤷♂️ The actual gameplay felt more like an old-school Zelda game to me than a real MMO. Because there's so much stuff to find on every screen. I'm pretty sure you can skip the side quests.
The difference is that the gameplay is fun and the story is good.
One of the cool things about older Final Fantasy games is that in battle you can call down an asteroid and a short cutscene will play where it explodes the earth and it does 33% more damage than hitting someone with a sword
I'd probably just throw in every fun 7+ mana permanent I have lying around (they don't even have to be creatures) :)
