6. We have the right to call out murders and kidnapping in our streets.
Feel free to add on.
3. We have the right to document federal officers in public.
4. We have the right to speak in any language.
5. We have the right to practice any religion, even if it’s not a denomination of Christian.
Freedom of speech is our greatest asset. It seems, however, this administration needs a refresh on what the First Amendment includes.
1. We have the right to peacefully protest.
2. We have the right to petition and criticize the government.
It is genuinely wild how many business practices rely on people with power not actually understanding what is going on.
I’m obviously focused on tech, but I’ve been pointing to Elizabeth Warren as an example where having someone who knows an industry makes a huge difference in regulating it.
Doctor and radio-operator-turned-programmer.
I’m rugged anyway because my parents moved my family to rural Southern Oregon. And I am already running! bethfordemocracy.com

These are just a few of the many black people here who stood up for what they thought was right. They showed us time and time again that change doesn’t happen just by sitting back, waiting for policies to change. They knew democracy can’t wait.
An image of text about the Valentine’s Day Manifesto. Text is hard to read as the image is washed out with light and blurry. This past looks as if it is a list of Demands and Responses to the Valentine’s Day Manifesto.
In 1973, Salem State’s Afro-American society wrote the “Valentine’s Day Manifesto, following a racist incident on campus. They asked for more Black staff and courses on Black history and culture. Today, the college teaches more than 10 courses focused on Black history.
A historical graphic marker in Lynn, describing Black people who fought for their own freedom.
Caesar Hendrick from Newburyport famously sued for his freedom and won. Also from Newburyport was the Revolutionary soldier Pomp Jackson, who won his freedom, joined the Continental Army, and was bunked in Valley Forge.
A black-and-white framed photo of Charles Lenox Remond bust wearing a suit. He looks inquisitively off in the picture. This photo, while old, is well preserved, not missing many details with age.
Another figure against slavery and for women’s rights was Charles Lenox Remond, a Salem native. He was anti-miscegenation laws, petitioned for the abolishment of capital punishment, and called for the desegregation of schools in Boston.
A black-and-white photo of Frederick Douglas’s bust wearing a suit. His eyes are focused off into the distance.
Frederick Douglas wrote his “Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglas, An American Slave” here in Lynn. This book not only sparked more resistance in the Abolitionary Movement, but his work lived on throughout history to inspire others.
Text above a black, red, yellow, and green diagonally striped background reading “Celebrating Historical Black MA-06 Voices”. This background extends for all posts.
We don’t need just a month to celebrate great people. Let’s talk about the great Black figures who lived in Massachusetts’ 6th congressional district. These heroic figures helped shape our towns, our countries, and the world we live in today.
In the Democratic wing of the Democratic party we don’t celebrate Republican wars.
In Congress, I will stand up for our service members & vote for peace: bethfordemocracy.com
The latest Iran War would not magically be good if Trump had asked Congress first.
Democratic establishment hawks are complaining about how he did it, instead of actually opposing the war.
Beth smiles, holding a bowling ball up in a bowling lane, ready to roll it down the lane.
Bowling ball rolls down the lane towards untouched bowling pins.
Beth about to launch a bowling ball, hand held out behind them. The lane in front of them has every pin but one knocked down.
A group photo of 5 people in a bowling alley. They are standing in front of the lanes with bright orange and yellow bowling shoes. From left to right are Sullivan, Bethany Andres-Beck, Quill, Alex, and Gil Frieden.
What a great night to Strike Out Hunger! Thank you to Matt and the Gloucester Democrats for hosting a fundraiser for our most needy, and thank you all for getting out here and supporting Open Door.
I support the Massachusetts state auditor & her ballot measure to bring open records laws to our legislature.
We deserve a transparent state government that works for us.
Our immigration system should build the American working class.
Today, people can be deported if they get caught organizing a union. That's bullshit.
In Congress, I will work for a fair immigration system that is easy to navigate: bethfordemocracy.com
Only Congress can declare war.
This is an illegal invasion.
In Congress, I will oppose war with Iran. And I will impeach Hegseth and Trump for these crimes.
In Congress, I will make our passports the law of the land.
Until Trump we could get gender-matching IDs, no matter which state we lived in.
That rule was a response to the first voter ID law in America.
Letting Kansas+Trump conspire to keep trans people from voting is a dangerous precedent.
“This isn’t a sport. It’s not a game. Politics is how we decide what our lives are going to be like. And I want us to decide better.”

The Yankees fans at the New York Times once again got an anti-trans activist to lie about us & pretended it is news 🙄
This is why we need nonbinary politicians on the national stage.
We are more than political props. In Washington I will fight for working Americans like us: bethfordemocracy.com
I am concerned about every text-generation company Hegseth ISN’T attacking.
Congress should launch an immediate investigation.

Members of Congress are not powerless. They are uncreative.
I am running for Congress to use the power of the office. Creatively, constructively and to its full extent.
We want this. The only way to get it is one small dollar donation at a time: bethfordemocracy.com

AI isn’t new to me. I was writing software for self-driving cars back in 2008.
As long as it was just research, we were fine. Now that consumers are using it, we need people in Congress who understand what they are regulating.
