Passed a man earlier with a really quite fed up look on his face, wearing a T shirt that said, in bold capitals, MAKE LOVE YOUR GOAL. In many ways we are all that man.

At the end I was just saying inside my head, "Don't die, don't die"

I went with no expectations at all, thinking "Oh I bet I've seen all this before", and I was blown away. I'm always so struck by the utter strangeness of Elvis. So much going on all at once - masculinity/femininity, power/powerlessness, pain/joy, authenticity/fakery. God, his FACE.

The new Baz Luhrmann film of Elvis in Concert is amazing! Loads of footage I'd never seen, and great interview clips. And as always I'm so drawn into the grandeur of the Elvis story - the glory and tragedy, the utter pathos of the King who never travelled outside his realm. The sadness. That VOICE ❀️

I think that Followed You To The End has real Carrie vibes too

I went to see The Lady Vanishes today on the proper screen at the Regent St Cinema and it was SOOOO fun. I realised it’s basically a romcom with a cursory thriller plot. And so entertaining. Whole audience applauded as the credits rolled, which I love.

Didn’t totally expect Martin Clunes to be the only good thing about Wuthering Heights 😬

Well Mackenzie Crook's Small Prophets is an absolute sheer delight isn't it. No one else does quite what he does. Magical and beautiful and hilarious all at once.

I agree. Wouldn’t trust that doctor with any aspect of my health, mental or physical.

Yeah it's open and just free to wander around! Incredible

Visited the V&A East Storehouse today and my god it's incredible. A cliche to say that it's like the final scene of Raiders of the Lost Ark - it's actually way more dazzling than that, a treasure trove all laid out before you. Loved the salvaged section of the Robin Hood Gardens Estate

Sorry to hear that - my only advice is to just be sure to be on the Wait List! There are always some returns which go to people on the lists. Best of luck.

Cool! I loved Saltburn so I’m definitely up for it but I think they’re hoping I’ll have *literary objections * which will be amusing

My daughters have invited me to go and see it with them and a crowd of their mates, I think because they suspect I will have OPINIONS

Got caught up in a huge crowd of Young People coming home from Soho just now, someone's phone blasting out Gypsy Woman and I swear I was the only person old enough to have remembered it from first time around (yes I did sing along)
