Kind of crazy that evidence is mounting that the world is run by a group of rapists, pedophiles, and men convinced of women’s inmate natural inferiority, and the pundit class is trying to convince us that the real social crisis is that men are victimized and lonely because women have too many jobs.

I think the logic is they want each subfield to take classes relevant to their research. Also lots of theorists end up taking languages (which don’t go to subfield requirements) so it helps to have a little more time to do that πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

Chicago does not. It also no longer requires a methods course. Just enough classes in your subfields and one comp.
