On my way to Mississippi where I will run a workshop for local news leaders and avoid aggressive diseased monkeys on the loose, I guess.

She/her. Faculty, @poynterinstitute.bsky.social. Previously Washington Post, Philly Inquirer, CBC News. Here to talk about local news, pizza toppings, and arbitrary absurdity. I don’t argue with people on the internet. Mostly Canadian.

Haha
Serious question for sports fans: how do you handle how emotional and stressful this all is and then just go about your lives for an entire season I just do not understand
I can’t tell you how discombobulating this all is as someone who mostly does not pay attention to sports and then is suddenly watching <waves hands wildly> all this
(Wretched film, my least favorite I’ve seen this year)
The Testament of Ann Lee made me incredibly happy … that I don’t live in the 18th century. Also, I was happy when it was over.
Yummmmm that sounds worth it
It is the glitter of the nut world
“Communities didn’t just hire more people and have more money to spend, they put those things together to fix roads and build new facilities aimed at supporting their populations and increasing public safety. “
Welcome!
Also just physically big. I think you can SEE it from the restaurant.

Search result from Toronto.com story that reads “Toronto's newest restaurant will have Canada's largest retractable rooftop 3 days ago - Queens Harbour will be located at 245 Queens Quay W., along Toronto's waterfront.”
Story excerpt that says “Once you pass through the open kitchen, you can enter Queens Garden, a two-level area with a "custom-engineered" operable roof, which will be the largest in Canada, according to the Queens Harbour team.”
A picture of the Rogers Centre with a massive retractable roof.
Uh … guys … it’s literally a five-minute walk from the Rogers Centre, which has a pretty big retractable roof.
I always tear up. Always.
Haha, oh man. Doooo itttt.

I haven’t seen this game since I was about 8 and I’ve never considered how odd the photo was before
The cover of the game Super Mastermind, with an old white man in a tuxedo seated with his hands folded in front of him and a younger Indian girl in a white sari standing beside him.
It’s been a while but what exactly is going on in this picture
I will never get over airport rules.
Just saw a man chase a glass of prosecco with a double whiskey. Sir, it’s 7 in the morning.
Oh thank you! Will fix.
Oh my god. These lyrics are wild I had no idea
An ad that reads “Unlock super human military staffs.” The name and website of the company have been scribbled over in the photograph.
Suuuuuper normal ad to see on the metro.
Living in DC is sometimes just bizarre.
I have so many dead friends in my Facebook, my phone. It’s a specific kind of haunting.
Achievement: unlocked. I’m now friends with @historicacanada.bsky.social
