I always teach my students that the stability we enjoy now is not the default. They don’t believe me. I barely believe me because my entire lived experience is stability and peace. But that is not the historical norm and those paying attention are seeing it collapsing. The rest need to wake up.

The problem is, that most folks aren't really that interested in art or music and have no idea what they want to create, even when they are doing it.
They are mostly facilitating the creation of bad art and boring music. I don't mean this from a gatekeeping point of view.
If anyone wants to create something, they are welcome to do so. It's art or music because of the intent to create it.
Ultimately, as far as the creation of meaningful or great art/music is concerned, they are just making fancier pencils or paint, or whatever.
A fundamental problem is that most folks in the world may like music or art, but aren't particularly interested in it and I think that probably applies to tech workers making AI tools "for art."
LOL, as someone who is involved in music and the arts, though I also have a regular job, I'd love to hear what tech folks think about a what musician or artist needs from AI.

My favorite thing about the bas reliefs on Borobudur Temple (Magelang, Central Java) is how they incorporate animals in the stories. They can be main characters or natural parts of the environment that also show emotions and affection, like in these cats, monkeys, dogs, and oxen. 1/2 #WyrdWednesday
