Some short stories are just meant to be novels. You canβt fight it.
I wanted a poem about rugged nature, or the wolf moonβ¦but what has arrived? One about Christmas tea towels. But the muse wants what it wants. π€·ββοΈ
The dark time of the year has inspired a flurry of novel writing. It feels like coming home to be working in the form I know the best. π₯° π
Love this idea. :) Here are my writing goals for 2026: (1) Finish the three novels I am working on; (2) Find anthology homes for more of my short stories; (3) Connect with more readers; and (4) Enjoy the writing journey!
I think I might be a touch addicted to submitting my work. πΉ πΉ
Followed by something more positive. :) :)
A double rejection afternoon. Sigh!
It still brings me such joy that I wrote a poem about doorknobsβ¦and that I get to sub it soon. π₯° πͺ
The hygienistβ¦an unexpected source of poetic inspiration!
I donβt know what to say about my current poetic spark, but my eternal fascination with the prosaic has taken a dark / body horror turn. π» π³
Ahhh a poem. Whole and perfect. Unlike the shattered snail shell that inspired it. π
Dear reader, they immediately woke up. π«
A witchy tarot reader is keeping me company before my morning coffee. π€« Donβt tell the wee girls Iβm awake! π§ββοΈ π βοΈ
A Doorknob of Oneβs Own has to be the right title for my doorknob poem. πΉ
π Hello, a new poem! #Poet
My poem, Routine: A Palace or a Prison appears in this beautiful collection. Available to pre-order now from Etsy. Happy National Poetry Day, all!
Things I am loving about writing at the moment:
1. Transforming novel ideas into short stories.
2. Dropping the title at the PERFECT moment.
3. Romantasy short stories where Iβm juggling dragons and flirtatious glances.
4. Casting mythology into my work and stirring it around.
5. Witches. π π βοΈ
Who, me? The wayward one, trying and failing to follow rules for anthology submissions. π
A poem! A new one. I am so happy. This one is celebrating my long-lost student days, when we used to eat chips on the staircase of my turret. π₯°
Today is publication day for Burnt Offerings, my short poetry collection. I am delighted to be stepping into my author era. Link below:

I am in novel writing mode right nowβ¦but I miss writing poems all the time. πΏ β¨
βThere are days now when I am swimming not sinking
when I think, Yes! I have finally understood how
all of this messy mum-life is supposed to work.β

Thank you so much!! β¨
Yay! I am a finalist in the Page Turner Writing Award 2025 with TWO of my novels: Aurora and Trad Wives. Congratulations to all the finalists! And to everyone who plucked up the courage to enter.
I am excited to be a contributor to Belladonnaβs Garden, a sparkling new lit mag that celebrates gentle magic. My poem and short story complement one another - same scene, different POV. Great witchy fun! π§ββοΈ β¨
Thank youuuuu! β¨ π ππ»
Just read some advice about not putting pets in your author bioβ¦butβ¦I feel like my enchanting cats deserve their shout out. π€ π πββ¬
An acceptance! π₯° Thank you everyone for supporting me on this rollercoaster. π’ β¨ β¨
