It doesn't mean I will not protect my stories from unbased and unasked criticism. But I will not turn protection into oppression. Everyone has their opinions. That's what makes us alive.

And no, I will not say "it's just pixels and words". Behind every pixel and word is a living human being and their heart. Precious stories is sometimes the only thing that let us stay human. And it can hurt. It really can hurt.
But just because of that - I want to be careful.

You do not know, why they ship certain stories.
(Maybe it was a text RPG that started a real-life romance, and the memories are too precious)
(An emotional oxygen in a life where everything else is suffocating, and you simply cannot love openly, for whatever reasons).

You do not know, why this person writes this story in a certain way.
(Maybe they want a representation of their experience, exactly the same, to feel they're not alone and accepted)
(Or maybe they want a story where it all could have been so much simpler. Where it could've hurt less)

An opinion that would be much hated, but the thing I always think while reading various "this or that ship/character gender/orientation should be considered canon" and seeing hatred pointed in all directions.
I wish people were kinder to each other.
