I have a few days before my next project starts I so jumped at the chance to do some fan art for the new animated Spider-Man show. Really loving the new character design and aesthetic so wanted to take a crack at blending my style with it.

I started sketching this a while ago and finally made myself sit down and render it. I had the idea of a group of awesome badass girls fending off a group of mindless boys. But… fantasy. A very subtle commentary. 😏

I really want to start playing with new color palettes and lighting. Really liked how this came out. 🏳️‍🌈

This time last year, I was just starting to think about whether I wanted to take a stab at being a #kidlit illustrator. I'm so glad I took the plunge. In the month of June, four books I've illustrated have been released. :) #kidlitart

I'm currently using Adobe Portfolio since it comes free with my Adobe subscription that I already have. So far, it's been perfectly serviceable... and 'free' which is nice.

I just excitedly added more than a dozen books to my TBR list, planning to purchase a few this weekend, only to learn that they are all 2024 releases. Whomp whomp.

Right? Images I don't rate very highly tend to be my most popular, whereas illustrations I am very pleased with barely make a blip on instagram. 🤷‍♂️

As an avid reader, my conversations with friends usually consist of me recommending books, them recommending TV shows, and both of us pretending we're interested in the suggestions.

It's been a rewarding month of drawing prompts. I challenged myself to do more 'complete' illustrations for each prompt rather than ignore the backgrounds... which I often do when working on personal work.
