Of course that is just MY experience, idk how much it applies to you or any one else in the comments, but I figured I should share in case it helps 🤷
In my experience, its usually either because sketches can look more energetic with their messiness that tends to not really translate into lineart, or sketches getting to be vague with the details, so you can bullshit them and it looks good, but that vanishes once those details get defined later on
